16 years since my first MIFF and it's still as inspiring as ever!

I saw three films this year:
- Sukundimi Walks Before Me
- The Siege of Paradise
- Phenomena

All three were inspiring for different reasons, all were beautifully filmed and I can't wait to catch the films I missed at Cinema Nova or Palace in the coming months.

Special shoutout to the live demonstration at IMAX after 'Phenomena', that was super cool.

An incredible two weeks with @melbfilmfest !!
Sold out sessions at my absolute favourite hometown theatres @forummelbourne and @imax.melbourne followed by rural screenings and a schools session at @acmionline

All love and support for myself and this film has been overwhelming, it means the world. The inbox is a mess but I will get around to responding to all your thoughtful messages. You really turned up for me 🧡

A shout out to the youth jury @collarts for the honourable mention at the awards too!

To the team at MIFF — thank you. What an incredible festival run by such a wonderful team. Hello to all my new friends and to all the filmmakers’ work I got to see, you’ve been inspirational! 🙏🏼

Playing this and next weekend at @dokufest in Prizren, Kosovo! I’ve heard such amazing things about this festival, I wish we could be there for these late screenings. European friends if you’re in the neighbourhood, go check it out!

Heading to @dokufest with three special screenings 📽️

“Time & Water,” directed by @unadosa, showing on 8/10, 8/12, and 8/15.

“Phenomena,” directed by @josefgatti, coming to the screen on 8/7 and 8/14.

Excited to be bringing Phenomena to my hometown @adlfilmfest

So much of this film was crafted in Dad’s shed, in the eastern suburbs where I grew up. Many of the nature scenes were filmed in rural SA as well. Shoutout to @arkaroolaofficial one of the most beautiful and remote places I’ve ever visited.

I’ll be there for a special Q&A with Dad too!

Working on this project was one of the highlights of my life. I’m super grateful to @josefgatti and @robinnesfilms for having given me the opportunity to be a small part of something so incredible and for all the beautiful crew that taught me so much.

A lot of trial and error, with hours of play.

I wanted to use real world elements to create some of the sounds for this film, so it could feel immersive. I hoped to capture the feeling of walking through a forest, leaves and twigs crunching under your feet, feeling a part of the bigger picture.
