Back to run #LondonMarathon in 2027 for @rs_trust
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
About last night…. it was the 21st Birthday of a charity very close to my heart @rs_trust ♥️ Over the last 7 years, I’ve had the privilege of being able to fundraise for them whilst going on my crazy adventures around the country 🥰 The latest being last years Pegasus SLAM of 6 ultras in 6 months was for my RST family ♥️

Charities like Rooprai Spinal Trust are vital as they help provide a whole network of support to individuals who have spinal cord injuries. I came across Marrianne (M) and Andy in 2019 through mutual friends and have been an active supporter of the incredible work they do to help those with SCI ever since. Thank you guys for everything that you do, love you both very much M and Andy ♥️👩🏼‍🦽‍➡️

Held at the awesome Battersea Power Station in a venue called Control Room B (which if you are a construction industry girlie and also a history buff like me then it’s also a huge chance to geek out at a lot of the original artefacts from the control room before it was decommissioned!) 😍🤓

Also loved seeing my OG running family (Danni, Robin and Siv) 😍 They are the ones who I blame for getting me into racing in the first place! My 1st ever 5k, 10k, half marathon and full marathons were with these guys (or because of them!) 😂

Great to catch up with fellow #TeamRST fam last night too! Such a beautiful group of like minded souls to be around 🥳

I’m not nonchalant (shocker I know) 💅🏽
So I scrubbed up alight …. Obvs 👸🏽👗 **flicks hair** 😜

Life is short, live it now ♥️ xxx

Some very exciting things have happened in the past week which I’m so thankful to @alcoholchangeuk for!

As a shy human, the idea of being seen was one that was always terrifying for me. I’d always be anxious in a room with people I wasn’t familiar with, let alone being in newspapers and on the news! It stems from my lack of confidence, and low self-esteem, which has always plagued me in my adult life.

I’d always hid away from being in a spotlight as it felt extremely exposing, there was such a reluctance to have eyes and focus on me. What if they saw through me? What if they saw who I am? Those thoughts filled me with dread.

But I was honoured and feel super proud to be on the cover of the @dryjanuary 5k/10k, and that marked a change for me. This is something that’s in the remit of being an ambassador for such a fabulous charity. And this is something I wanted to rise to, to move past the edges of my comfort zone. So when I was asked to also be involved in its promotion in some of the biggest UK newspapers, with some content around my story, I felt happy to say yes!

The big one, was when I was asked whether I’d be happy to appear in an interview on ITV as part of the coverage of the event, the first emotion I felt were nerves, but that was swiftly followed with one of excitement. My anxiety was present but I was delighted to say yes, and to mark the debut of my first tv appearance, talking about my story and experiences.

It’s been a bit of a whirlwind this past week, but there’s been growth, and I’ve learned new things about myself. Life has a funny way of putting little tests in front on you, confronting some of those inner anxieties, but I feel proud of myself how I’ve reacted to it, and the support, love and opportunity given to me by ACUK 🧡

And the Dry January run was super fabulous and it was great to see so many lovely faces there ☺️🧡

The Cardiff Half!
My first time running this race, and my first time in the city! After a chilly start, the sun came out for us as we made our way through the city. I loved running along the barrage and the bay, before heading back to the city centre. The crowds were out in force, with music playing everywhere, especially at the fabulous rainbow corner. A couple of sneaky hills were thrown in, including a slightly annoying one at the 12 mile point 😆, but we were soon in sight of the castle and the finish!
This is my first of the SuperHalfs, which I’ll be looking to run over the next few years to earn one of the SuperMedals (last photo!) Next stop..Valencia 2025??
Absolutely wonderful to see so many familiar faces before and during the race and especially lovely to meet @academicinaboilersuit for the first time! 💜.
