World breastfeeding week 🤱🏾🤍🌎

I think it’s crazy when people think I’m crazy for nursing my children for so “long.” It’s world breastfeeding week and I absolutely need to share the WHO Recommendations that when possible, infants should be exclusively breastfed for the first six months of life to achieve optimal growth, development and health.

Thereafter, to meet their evolving nutritional requirements, infants should receive nutritionally adequate and safe complementary foods, while continuing to breastfeed for up to two years or beyond.

Two years and beyond. Read it again. Normalize that.

And lastly, you don’t need to cover up for anyone if you don’t want to. I personally don’t hide under a blanket when eating food, nor will my babes.

I really don’t have any words to describe this mommas heart in the past few days. I’m sick to my stomach and frankly, I’m struggling to move past my broken heart and anxiety over the children who were lost just a few days ago.
God has entrusted us to care for and love these sweet little babies and the idea that someone can take them away from us in an instant breaks me in two.
We live in a world of pain and suffering and the only way I can face every day on this scary earth is knowing that our God is a good God and His heart is broken over this too.
Hug your babies a little tighter tonight and never let them go.

5 years with you amor 🤍 celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary this year. Still can’t believe we were married in the city of love so long ago. Can’t wait to go back! Here’s to many more years and grey hairs together.
