Malcolm Island XC Gravel Grind. A challenging and fun curation of muddy decommissioned roads and steep single track pitches. Much like the weekend the race exuded community spirit as evidenced by the dude with an impromptu free warm beer roadside aid station (proud to be the 8th rider that stopped). It was a fitting destination for the SCX race team making as many memories around the campfire.

@scotchcx2 takes on Malcolm Island XC-GG. The road was long to get there but it was a great weekend sharing sunsets, smores, crafts, meals, and wheels out in Port McNeil and Malcolm Island. Great event! And thanks to all the volunteers who make it happen and all the people that like an adventure and fun course that registered to keep events like these running strong! We'll be back!

Projects like Search for Milliseconds, following a full season of racing, are never done alone. This film was made possible by an incredible group of talented contributors who helped us get all the way to the finish line.

Huge thanks to everyone credited here. We couldn’t have done it without you.

What a wonderful morning! A huge thanks to the hoards that came out in droves to appreciate a true participant. Remember, we miss 100% of the shots we don’t take but if you don’t take a shot you still have a ball.

Been spending a lot more time on feet than two wheels these days but have been thinking about the relatively simple vehicle that is the bicycle and all the places it’s taken me in life. Running the Juan de Fuca Trail was my first proper run, relying on some cycling fitness and lots of previous hiking. It was inspiring and marked a shifted in the timeline of modality for me. I loved how running expanded the map beyond the constructed roads or trails that the bicycle demanded. Both modalities of self propulsion have shaped the person who I am today (and continue too) as they have both taken me to some far flung places, physically and mentally. But undoubtedly one of the greatest commonalities between the two is the communities they form. Bringing people together who share a common understanding of something not easily explained…

Anyways that’s all really just an excuse to enjoy digging through the archives and some old bike photos.
