One month on the shelf, and reviews for Uncomplicated Leadership are in: “Truly an innovative perspective on leadership that to be honest, you can take far beyond the workforce.” “Julia challenges you to examine not only what you do as a leader, but also how people experience your leadership.” “Reading Uncomplicated Leadership has helped me to completely reset not only my approach to leading my team at work, but also how I’ve been coaching them for their next roles.” As excited as I was to share this book with the world, I was also nervous. Would anyone read it? Would it resonate? I finally landed on, if just ONE person sees leadership differently after reading the book, then I’ve succeeded in my mission. I truly believe that effective, human-centered leadership is how we change the world for the better. And we don’t need complicated, overwhelming frameworks, assessments or programs to get us there. If you believe that too, or are just curious to learn more about Uncomplicated Leadership, I would love for you to grab your copy! A year ago, Uncomplicated Leadership was just a dream. Now this book is out in the world, and people are reading it, sharing it, and even buying it for other people. What makes me happiest is that I put ME in the book. The Brooklyn girl. The Marvel nerd. The chatty storyteller. The eternal optimist. I didn’t want to try to write about leadership the way that others do, or the way I thought would fit in the normal business reader box. That’s one reason I call it “the leadership book for people who hate leadership books.” If you haven’t yet gotten your copy, it’s now available in both paperback and hardcover, as well as ebook format. Just head to rockcareer.com/ULBook to grab one from your favorite online retailer or order a personalized, signed copy directly from me! If you get a copy, bookmark this post so you can come back to it and share your thoughts! #leadership #uncomplicatedleadership #book #bookrelease

Today is the big day!!!! After months of anticipation and preorders, my book, Uncomplicated Leadership, has now hit digital shelves!! I am both nervous and happy that the world gets to read something that I put my heart and soul into. Last month, I went to Barbados to surprise my dad for his 77th birthday with a copy of the book. It begins with a story about him, so I thought it only right that he and my mom got the very first copy. It truly made my year to share that special moment with the two people who are the inspiration behind everything I do on this earth. Now, I get to share this moment with you! I could ask you to invest in this book for yourself or someone else because we’re LinkedIn friends. But that’s not a good enough reason, and it’s not the real reason I want you to get it either. I’ve never believed in anything as much as I do the Uncomplicated Leadership philosophy. Even before I put it on paper, I had seen how the concepts worked for successful leaders, and what happened when they weren’t present. I’ve seen the teams that thrive when they have good leaders, and those that suffer with high turnover and disengagement when their leaders underperform. I’ve seen the umpteen leadership programs, assessments, frameworks, culture matches rolled out in organizations in efforts to improve leadership effectiveness and drive greater retention, and I’ve watched them fall flat. That’s why I am so passionate about sharing Uncomplicated Leadership with you, and anyone else I get in contact with (I literally will not shut up about it). I 100% believe that if more leaders could read this book, we could begin transforming organizations right now. Reducing burnout. Improving productivity. Increasing engagement. Building better leadership pipelines. Driving innovation. That’s the work this book can do. So if you’re a leader reading this, and you too believe in the difference better leadership can make, I would love for you to grab a copy of Uncomplicated Leadership today. A year ago, the Uncomplicated Leadership Conference was just an idea. Now we are 15 days away from this vision coming to life. @jevonspeaks and I had heard the same concerns over and over from our executive clients. We’ve held space for our friends, loved ones, and colleagues navigating tough workplace environments with even tougher leadership cultures. We’ve seen all the different fads come and go… you know, the ones that will really help you become a better leader THIS time. We’ve seen AI dominate every conversation, while the human cost becomes an afterthought. All the while, workplace engagement and productivity still don’t improve. So we decided to create this conference to help leaders get back to the basics of leading people well. No gimmicks. No fads. No 12-week implementation plan. Just practical solutions that can transform how you lead, starting the very next day. The Details: September 24-25, 2026 Blossom Hotel, Houston, TX Tickets are still available, and we would love to see you in the room as we uncomplicate leadership together. @jevonspeaks and I recently spent time at the @blossomhotelhouston, walking through the spaces that will soon be filled with leaders from across the country for the Uncomplicated Leadership Conference. The ballroom. The rooftop. The rooms. The views. Everything is immaculate! But this conference isn’t just about a beautiful venue. It’s about what happens when the right leaders get in the room. We’re creating an experience for directors, executives, and senior business leaders to gain executive-level strategies, build meaningful connections, and leave equipped to lead through uncertainty with confidence. That means powerful keynotes, meaningful networking, and access to 1-on-1 executive coaching designed to help you turn what you learn into action. 📅 September 24–25, 2026 📍 Blossom Hotel | Houston, TX September isn’t far away. If you’ve been a people leader for a while, most leadership content can feel like a waste of your time. You know the frameworks. You’ve read the books. You’ve done MBTI, DiSC, and StrengthsFinder. You don’t need someone to explain delegation to you. What you don’t get enough of is a room where you’re not the most senior person, where you can say “I don’t actually know how to handle this” without it costing you anything. That’s exactly what @jevonspeaks of @brightmindconsultinggroup and I built the Uncomplicated Leadership™ Conference for. Not another framework to file away. Not the same rehashed leadership talking points you’ve heard 20 times over. A room of peers working through the same leadership challenges you are, at the level where the mistakes can be extremely expensive. You’ll leave with language for what you already do well, and a clearer, actionable roadmap to tackle the things you’ve been avoiding. It’s all happening on September 24-25 in Houston, TX, so register here to join us: uncomplicated-leadership.com #30DaysofUncomplicatedLeadership #ULC2026 #leadership

We hear the term “thought leadership” all the time, and the pressure to post content on every platform regularly is very real. But here’s what I think keeps getting lost in translation: Your audience isn’t just scrolling. They’re managing burnout, trying to pay for gas in THIS economy, building businesses, submitting their 50th job application — all without a real roadmap. So dishing out hollow, tone deaf content doesn’t help them in any way. It just adds to the overwhelm. The content worth creating — and consuming — spurs action. It feels aligned, not forced. It meets people where they are. So if true thought leadership and connection are what we’re after, the standard can’t just be consistency. It has to be IMPACT. Many thanks to @rhonabpierce for allowing me to share these thoughts and more on the @workfluencerpod !
