Isabella @rockharlequin had to say adieu (for now) today, which is sad…but in happier news, @corrielpeters took this great documentation of Isabella’s recycling performance “Materials Return to Where They Came From”. So great! Isabella is a gem! 💎 and I’m also including a pic of the gorgeous basket she made and gifted us ❤️ Merci Isabella! And come back!

We try to take all the artists who do our residency to this tree if possible, and a couple days ago we went with a whole gang of artists from all three residencies that are now up and running in Sointula. 🌲 ✨ There was @corrielpeters who is here doing our Sointula Art Shed residency (and Fester the picturesque/bouncy doodle!), Isabella @rockharlequin who is here doing Rebekah’s Sointula House residency, and Rebeca @rebecadk who is here as the very first artist in residence at Oonagh’s new Tree House residency in Rough Bay! And Oonagh also joined, and took this great pic! 🌲 ✨ It’s so nice to get to know so many terrific artists and writers who are spending time incorporating this place into their lives and artistic practices, and we are always so grateful to spend time with this beautiful and humbling ancient tree. 🌲 ✨ #tłatła̱skudis

It’s the year of the horse, so everyone should probably do what these very beautiful local horses and their very smart and cool riders Ayla and Storm did yesterday and stroll on by to check out the new Window Gallery show! It’s Isabella @rockharlequin ‘s ‘A Shell By Any Other Foam’, and it’s all sorts of thought provoking and lovely - come see! .•* Isabella is here doing Rebekah’s Sointula House residency, and she’s been gathering styrofoam found on local beaches and carving it into these beautiful shells. So not only is she making great art, but she’s also doing the community a really excellent service in clearing some marine debris, too - thank you Isabella! We love this show, and also appreciate how it’s attracting an expanded art audience including these horses and also sweet Pogo the dog. .•* 🐚 🐎 🐕 🖼️ #downtownsointula #windowgallery #tłatła̱skudis
