POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Today, I am celebrating my 49th birthday! 💫🥳🎂

I am also celebrating some exciting news!! I have signed with @northernbeebooks to publish my first two children’s books:
•The ABC’s of Beekeeping
•The ABC’s of Honey Bees

I have been capturing my love of nature through writing, art, and photography since I was a little girl.

Throughout my 20+ year career in education, my passion for writing and illustrating children’s literature only grew stronger.

It is my hope that these two books will inspire others to explore the magical world of bees and beekeeping.
Stay tuned for more publication updates coming soon...🐝
Wishing everyone a fabulous day!💫

Magical!💫 I have been watching this cecropia moth’s journey since last fall, when I noticed the caterpillar crawling in the tall grass, underneath our apple trees. Later in the fall, I noticed her beautiful cocoon. I checked it each day, all winter long. Based on my research, I knew she would emerge in late spring. I have so enjoyed my journey with her…nature is truly amazing!😭💫💚

Happy Friday! During the winter season, a #queen forms a new #colony by laying eggs within each cell inside a #honeycomb. In order for one colony to survive, the queen must lay fertilized eggs to create worker #bees, which forage for food and take care of the colony. At BeeVital we have developed #BeeStrong to boost the colonies and help create beautiful brood patterns and stronger colonies to survive and thrive during stressful periods such as dearth and pollination. In addition, it has been tested and proved to help prevent and treat brood diseases. Link in bio to contact us about this unique product! #SaveTheBees .

Bees remember faces. 🐝
A honeybee brain 🧠 has a million neurons, compared with the 100 billion in a human brain. But, researchers report, bees can recognize faces, and they even do it the same way we do.

Beekeepers
What (besides bees) do I like about beekeeping? The beekeepers! Meeting all the wonderful people who have a passion for bees and who want to share knowledge about what works for them. Today I got to meet @indigo_acres_apiary from Michigan and learn about her practices as well as share information about mine. #BeekeepersUnite #BeekeepersOfInstagram #JustKeepLearning #ABF2020 #FlowHive

Do you already follow our #BeeVitalAmbassador in USA @indigo_acres_apiary ? 🐝 Her apiary is filled with pollinator friendly gardens and humming with the voices of honeybees. In winter, she gets a lot of snow, therefore, she prepares her hives with insulated wraps in order to block the wind and maintain cluster warmth. ❄️ Check out her highlight stories to learn more about this method! #SaveTheBees #BeeVital
