Happy birthday to the man who steals all the corners of our brownies, who has officially unofficially changed the name of snacks to “shnacks”, who drinks one too many coffees according to the coffee barometer and quite possibly has caffeine running through his veins. 😂☕️

The man who rides like a legend and has that unmistakable coffee-drinking stance that everyone knows. Dead straight legs, both hands holding his cup perfectly upright against his chest, either deep in a very cool conversation or warming those legs in front of the fireplace. 😂

Anyway, we won’t go into too much detail… we just want to wish you a super-duper amazing HAPPY BIRTHDAY! 🥳

We hope you’re having the best time in Merica, that the jet lag is being kind to you and that you’re getting properly spoilt today.

Happy birthday Rogi Bean! 🥳

Last year in your 20s and you’re out here doing amazing things, jet-setting around the world and generally being an all-round incredible human being.

Anyone who knows Rogie will adore him. His banter, larger than life personality and, most importantly, his loyalty and absolutely massive heart. He’s genuinely one of the good ones. (Sometimes we change his name to Rosie, but that’s a story for another day 😂).

Rogs, wherever in the world you find yourself today, we hope you have the BEST day. We hope you get that same euphoria you feel when you’re cycling, that feeling that makes you forget everything else for a little while. 🚴‍♂️

Here’s to a year filled with many adventures, big wins, plenty of laughs and everything you deserve (maybe even a wife) . May this be your best year yet before the big 3-0!

This was one very fast race with constant attacks from @toyotaspecializedimbuko boys
Around 30kms mark @mattbeers55 launched one hard attack splitting the race into 3 groups
@marcojoubert with some mechanical issues put up a strong fight chasing back but #4 was his lucky number.
Second chase group saw @keagan_bontekoning @rogansmart chase down front group however front 3 had no plans slowing down.
Group 3 saw @freddie_visser looking comfortable in second half of race and finished a strong 7th
Terrain was fast and decent enough for gravel, the headwind sections seemed a killer for most.
Race started icy cold, the sun eventually showed itself
Seems @mattbeers55 is unstoppable at this event winning it for the 3rd time. A very close second for @_tristannortje_ that showed amazing form. @alex_mtb_miller rounded off the podium

Well, that’s a wrap on Unbound 2026.

What an incredible week supporting some amazing athletes. As always, one of the best parts was getting to catch up with old friends, make new ones, and be part of such an awesome community.

I’m incredibly proud of everything our athletes accomplished. We had zero mechanical problems,(that weren’t mud related) and a lot of outstanding results throughout the weekend. The mud made it very interesting and way more fun.

Now it’s time to recover, regroup, and get ready for the next big one Leadville in August with Andres.

A huge thank you to @danhutchinsonphotoinc for capturing the weekend through his lens. Not only are you a talented photographer, but you’re also a great friend.

The Gallows 🥇

The Gallows has been a constant in the last four years of my racing, an opportunity to test myself and see how I have improved every year and what needs work. This was the second year I felt like ability, and experience were on my side and I’m glad I could pull off another win.

Thanks for a great duel @daniel.vanderwalt. Congrats @rogansmart for rounding out the podium. Kudos to Mr @gearchangesa for being a weapon and @_loodgoosen_ who rode a strong race despite a severe puncture - sorry we were robbed of a battle again but I’m sure we will have a few more!

I felt I was missing two things at Swartberg - some punch, and technical skills. So I went back to the drawing board, rested a bit and focused on a bit more high intensity in the training and hit the trails for two weeks and it made a huge difference to my confidence in the race.

@jerotz @carldavidjones @postageagency thanks for putting together a great race, and thank you @jamesheron_c @mattie_lennon and @eringoodman_ for the stunning photos.

What a sick event and route @the_gallows__ 🤩

2nd for me 🥈 and a nice dice with a strong @danloubser 🤝🏻

Knowing where the finish line was would have been nice though😅 Got caught off guard when I got attacked as I was under the impression we still had 5km until the top which left me a bit unsatisfied that I didn’t completely empty the tank ⛽️

The form is looking good and I’m exciting for @unboundgravel 200 at the end of the month!

The Gallows was the first cycling race I ever shot. One year later, with all that’s happened in between, it’s still my favourite of the lot.

This is the story of what happened at the front. It finished the same, with the incredible @danloubser defending his title, but this time with some shoulder-to-shoulder company from @daniel.vanderwalt right until the finish.

@rogansmart kept things smooth and simple, rounding out the podium. Dave George gave me a few glaring looks en route, but slowly warmed up to me. And if luck had been a little kinder, I’m convinced @_loodgoosen_ would’ve been right there in the fight too.

@jerotz and @carldavidjones, you and your team have something special going. Thank you for letting us be a part of it.

Think I’m going to have to ride this thing next year.
