These are the various ailments my 2 kids (10 and 13) have had in the past 10 days:

Child 1: shingles (mild)
Child 2: knee wound that isn't healing / is infected, high temperature and cold, conjunctivitis

While, of course, I'm grateful all these are minor AND didn't happen while we were away, man alive the juggle is a struggle!

Just because something is flexible doesn't mean it isn't stressful. Yes, I can spend half a day at minor injuries without asking for permission from my boss, but then I have to figure out how to catch up with work so I don't end up with a lagging schedule.

Fortunately, I had put this week aside to work ON my business, rather than IN my business and although I'm frustrated to have lost most of that week now, at least I haven't had to worry about losing income or letting clients down.

Social media and housework completely fell by the wayside, but my kids have been looked after and all the essential tasks in my business have been completed.

To anyone juggling work and poorly kids: you are not alone!

Wishing you all well if you've been in the illness/family life trenches.

We’re proud to have supported the Bewdley Traders group with these flyers featuring a beautifully illustrated map of Bewdley Town by @rogueletters

Bewdley is our hometown, and many of our customers are located within it. It’s heartbreaking to see the impact of the recent flood defence work on the town’s footfall and its businesses and shops.

When approached to get involved in this project, we didn’t hesitate to help where we could - which was, of course, with the printing - our specialty!

These A3 flyers are printed on 115gsm satin paper, then fold down to a pocket-sized A6.

There are now 10,000 maps ready to guide visitors around the town and help locals discover hidden local treasures. You can grab your copy from many shops throughout Bewdley.

Dani has always had a life-long love affair with fancy pens and inks.

After discovering me through my sweary calligraphy greeting cards on Reddit (crazy right?!?), she began her calligraphy journey in 2018 with my Modern Calligraphy 101 course.

When her mental health started to decline due to fertility issues, she made a promise to herself to focus on the future - going all-in and joining my “Calligraphy Bosses Inner Circle” (which would become the beta version of my “Biz Starter Guide” course!!).

I am so happy to share that Dani is now the owner of @rogueletters & her very own brick-and-mortar calligraphy boutique!

Join me on this weeks podcast where we talk about Dani’s unique business journey, how she has benefitted from my business course, and why investing in yourself & your passions is one of the BEST things you can do💕

✨If you are inspired to invest in yourself and begin your own journey, our Cyber Monday sale is going on right now through Friday, December 1st 2023 at 11:59PM PDT. ❤️❤️Comment “rogue” to learn about our courses & our BIGGEST bonus package ever!!❤️❤️✨

The Magic Tenner has some great offers, but it’s so much more than that.

It’s about shopping totally locally and keeping that money in our local economy.

£10 spent locally with a business, means up to £50 goes back into the local economy.

Local independents often use othe local businesses for things like supplies, services, stock etc

Let me give some examples right here in Bewdley.

Pewter Works business uses 14 other local businesses 🙌

@rogueletters just moved to their workshop in Bewdley and already supports 4 others.

@the_green_cobbler supports 16 other local businesses

@from.the.wildwood supports 9 others local businesses

@ripleysbewdley supports 3 other local businesses

Riverview Tea Gardens supports 3 other businesses

@thegardenkitchenbewdley supports 12 other local independents

These are just a few, but you can see how your tenner goes round and around, and makes our local economy thrive.

Ready to spend your tenner in your local town?

I thought it was about time we had a burst of bright colours on our grid again! Here’s a throwback to a styled shoot we hosted last summer, with a brief of bright and fun. I loved the glitter balls! And we served up an afternoon tea selection, which is a really popular food choice with our couples, followed by a hog roast or stone baked pizzas in the evening.

Bizarrely enough, this month I've had a few people suggest the topic of Grammarly vs professional proofreader as something for me to write about. What makes it bizarre is that I had already planned this topic for this month's blog post.

Of course, I am completely biased here, but there are numerous reasons why Grammarly can’t replace a proofreader. I couldn’t even fit all the reasons into one blog post (unless you want to spend all day reading it).

I am not saying you shouldn’t use Grammarly (or other proofreading programs) at all, but for long form content or projects that will be shared time and time again (workbooks, lead magnets, ebooks, etc.) a human (and professional) proofreader will spot so many things that Grammarly will miss.

Huge thanks to @rogueletters who helped me refine and expand on my points for this blog post, I really appreciate it! Cover photo is by the marvellous @ebm.brandphotography.

I’d be so grateful if you could read this post and share it with anyone whom you think could benefit 😊 (Link in stories / story highlights.)
