Of course my first event as Miss Oregon Volunteer was helping at a marathon😉

Last Saturday I had the opportunity to hand out medals at the @roguemarathon to all of the finishers! If you know me, you know I’m usually running the races so it was such a treat to be volunteering at one. It was amazing to see all the racers finish and see them be overcome with emotion. A lot of people train for months to be able to run and you can tell that they put their all into this race!

A big thank you to our Spirit of Oregon titleholder @aubrey.delilah and our Southern Oregon Teen Volunteer @rowen.rhoades for spending the day with me! It was a blast to hang out with guys and meet you in person!

A new title, a new chapter, and a little introduction!✨

Hi everyone! As we transition this page over to my year as Miss Oregon Volunteer 2027, I figured it was time to introduce myself!

My name is Payton Idrogo, and I’m so honored to represent Oregon at Miss Volunteer America this June! While my journey to this title may not have followed the traditional path, I couldn’t be more excited for this opportunity and everything this year has in store.

A few things to get to know me:
•I have been competing in pageants since 2020, when my first ever pageant was canceled due to COVID
•I am a runner and just completed my first Marathon in Portland a week and a half ago
•I am the founder of my local run club @sunshineandmilesrc
•My S.E.R.V.E. initiative is Organ Donation: Legacy of Life, where I am a classroom educator through @donatelifenw while also sharing my own story of living with only one kidney
•I work as a inpatient phlebotomist at the hospital in Klamath Falls, so I’ve been lovingly dubbed as a vampire

I’m so excited to share this next chapter with you all, from preparing for the national stage to continuing to serve my community here in Oregon. Thank you for being here and following along!

Signing off for the first time,

Miss Oregon Volunteer 2027

We’ve come a long way in 3 years! Worked as a pack with @_leodonleo_, @strackedille, and @that_salem_runner to finally break 66 minutes in the half marathon. My left glute and quad were screaming and my stomach was upset over the back half, but I hung on for🥉place and a nearly 3-minute PR of 65:12!!

When I first joined @timberlineathleticclub, my PR was 73:59 from the Lake Sammamish Half, a tune-up for my 2023 Boston build. That’s almost 9 minutes (8:47) faster in 3 years.

Huge thanks to @tisheenak, @roguemarathon, and all the volunteers for an awesome race experience, plus the amazing beer garden and Hawaiian food at the finish! 🌺 🍺

Thankful for @devin.wulff, @drbrandonbridgeman, and @draustinfothergill for keeping me healthy.

Excited to keep the momentum going through XC this fall as we build toward the @chevronhoustonmarathon in January and a crack at the US Marathon OTQ! 🏃🏻‍♂️ 💪🏼 🇺🇸

•Four days ago , I signed up for the Rogue half Marathon. Do I recommend signing up for a half marathon four days before race day ? Probably not . But do I recommend believing in yourself and seeing what you’re capable of? ABSOLUTELY!
Today I ran my 5th half marathon, finished in 2:17, and beat my personal best by 20 minutes. I have so many feelings about just how proud I am of myself.
There’s something about running that has always reminded me that it’s not about the destination, but the journey. Putting one foot in front of the other , one mile at a time.
Feeling incredibly grateful for my hubby , for being my fan guy, and for all the runners out there this morning who inspired me to keep going.
Today wasn’t just about the faster time . It was about believing in myself , celebrating myself , and remembering I can do hard things.
Here’s to cheering for ourselves a little louder , trusting the journey , and never underestimating what we’re capable of. 💪💗•

🏅💗 Serving with a little Spirit of Oregon! 💗🏅

Aubrey had the special opportunity to volunteer at the Rogue Marathon, cheering on runners and handing out medals as they crossed the finish line! 🏃‍♀️✨

As a pageant titleholder, being able to give back to her community, encourage others, and celebrate their accomplishments is such a meaningful part of her journey. Every runner had a goal, and Aubrey loved being a small part of their big achievement! ❤️

We are so proud of her for representing her Spirit of Oregon title with kindness, enthusiasm, and a heart for service! 🌹👑

Fresh off the @pdxmarathon as #1 overall finisher with a time of 2:17:27 I’m gonna try my hand at the @roguemarathon. Maybe shooting for a sub-2hr finish with that overall elevation drop of 1028 ft. 🤞
