I’ve been an esthetician for 10 years now & in the beauty industry as a whole for 20 YEARS‼️A lot of people don’t know my (wild) journey so I thought I’d fill you in so you can get to know me better. I was 19 when I got my 1st beauty job working the @biotherm counter at Nordstrom (shout out store 1.) This skincare brand was huge in the beauty space in Korea & Europe in the early 2000’s & was way ahead of its time paving the path in sustainable skincare. Eventually, I moved into makeup and helped open the @armanibeauty counter (remember the black tile floors? it was gorg!) I loved that job & wore high waisted pencil skirts + stilettos EVERYDAY. Like most people who started at beauty counters, I went freelance & did weddings, some fashion shows, & editorial shoots. During this time I also waited tables, was a cocktail waitress, & then bartended for years. Fast forward some time, I started working as an Account Executive @sundayriley before they were even in Sephora. They really put lactic acid on the map as a hero ingredient for OTC skincare. I graduated into being the Education Coordinator & that’s when my love of deep diving into ingredients & formulation flourished! Keep in mind, I have always hustled so I was still bartending on the weekends & teaching yoga multiple times a week. I was always obsessed with my brows and routinely would see a brow + skin specialist. They kind of took me under their wing & I left Sunday Riley to work the front desk there with the intention of going to esthetics school! My first esthetics school was horrible so I ended up doing beauty school twice. I briefly worked at a med spa & while in beauty school my 2nd time (lol) I also took an Integrative Nutrition course at @iinalumni Right out of school I took a job at a skincare studio that focused more on results driven skincare + services. I can confidently say I worked under some very smart & seasoned estheticians & I believe every new esthi should do so! I learned a lot on (&off) the clock, I also think that is a HUGE part of an estheticians success. I’ve steady stayed taking courses, reading books, & most importantly put in the work with hands on experience.
