Another Scar Story from our event 🫶🏻❤️

By @romeoolukotun

I’ve lived with visible scarring from burns I sustained as a young child and growing up with a visible difference brought challenges around confidence, self-image and feeling comfortable being seen. Over time, I learned not to view my scars as something that diminished me, but as part of my story and a reflection of everything I have lived through.

That journey has shaped much of who I am today. Through acting, writing, poetry, and my work as a volunteer campaigner for Changing Faces, I try to use my experiences to help challenge perceptions of visible difference and encourage others to feel confident taking up space as themselves.

‘Ode to Scars’ comes from that place. It is about recognising that our scars - visible or otherwise - do not have to be hidden or apologised for. I hope that by sharing my story and my work, other people can feel seen, understood and a little more empowered to embrace their own.

☕ Life is a little like buying a cup of coffee… but what happens when someone else decides you no longer deserve one?

We make choices every day. We decide what to order, where to go, and how to treat the people around us. But what happens when the power to make those choices is taken away? When the system that is supposed to serve justice becomes the very thing that denies it?

In The Dying Wish, we explore what happens when humanity collides with authority, when obedience replaces compassion, and when the machinery of justice becomes more important than the people caught within it.

Because behind every verdict, every sentence, and every decision, there is a human being.

And perhaps the most important question isn't whether someone deserves a second chance, but who gets to decide?

🎭 The Dying Wish — an absurdist play by Mauro Fazion, produced by Fractured Time Productions.

Help us bring this urgent, darkly comic and deeply human story back to the stage. Every contribution helps us challenge injustice, spark conversation, and give this story the audience it deserves.

🎭 MEET THE TEAM: ROMEO OLUKOTUN

We’re delighted to welcome Romeo Olukotun back to The Dying Wish, taking on the roles of The Engineer and Kiddy following our successful run at the 2025 Lambeth Fringe! 🖤💛

Romeo is an actor, writer and poet whose screen credits include the upcoming romance folk-horror feature Widow & Tree, in which he plays one of the titular characters, alongside appearances in a number of independent short films.

Beyond acting, Romeo writes and performs spoken-word poetry and is currently developing his own original television comedy series.

He is also a volunteer campaigner with Changing Faces, advocating for greater representation of people with visible differences — an important part of his work beyond the stage and screen.

We’re thrilled to have Romeo returning to the world of The Dying Wish and can’t wait for audiences to see him bring these characters to life! ✨

More than skin deep. 🤍

We’re proud to announce our partnership with Changing Faces, supporting their work to create a world where everyone with a scar, mark or condition that affects their appearance feels seen, supported and confident.

Our ISOSKIN Hypochlorous Spray is more than skincare. As part of our Clean Confidence campaign, 100% of the profits from this dedicated launch will be donated directly to Changing Faces, helping fund the vital work they do for people with visible differences.
Because confidence goes beyond skin. It’s about feeling comfortable in who you are, being supported and knowing you’re never alone.

Clean Confidence. Real Support.

Meet @romeoolukotun, a Changing Faces campaigner with burns scarring to his neck, chest and torso due to a hot water accident when he was a baby.

This week, Children’s Burns Trust are asking everyone to #BeBurnsAware. Over 10,000 children were burned or scalded in 2025 and admitted to Specialist Burns Services across the UK.

If you or someone you know have recently experienced a burns injury, and you’re struggling with the emotional impact, find support and community with Changing Faces. Head to the link in bio for more 💙

🎭 HELP BRING THE DYING WISH BACK TO THE STAGE! 🎭

What happens when a system designed to deliver justice becomes the very thing that destroys it?

The Dying Wish is an absurdist play exploring injustice, prejudice and the corruption of justice systems, blending dark humour with emotional realism. After a successful, sold-out run at the Lambeth Fringe, we are bringing this powerful story back to London audiences in January 2027.

As an independent theatre company, Fractured Time Productions relies on the generosity of people who believe in bold, thought-provoking theatre. Your support will help us pay our cast and creative team fairly, bring our production to life, and make this story accessible to more people.

✨ Every donation makes a difference.
🎭 Every share helps us reach a new audience.
❤️ Every bit of support brings us one step closer to the stage.

❤️✨ An absolutely amazing and powerful experience working with @love_disfigure, the true definition of strength and resilience, alongside @scarfreeworld. Thank you @danielaluquini.co
For the amazing pictures.
We came together with amazing people to share our stories, embrace our scars, raise awareness, and turn our experiences into power for change. Every scar tells a story, every voice matters, and together, we can challenge stigma and create a world filled with more understanding, kindness, and love. ❤️‍🔥

There is still so much work to do, but I promise to keep using my voice, sharing my story, and raising awareness to help the world see us beyond our scars.

A huge thank you to everyone who made this incredible event possible. The power, unity, and strength in that room was truly inspiring.

This is only the beginning! Together, we can make a difference. ❤️

It’s a privilege to pursue creative avenues and will make it my career not just becuase i can do it but becuase i love it and it challenges me every time.

Nerd time 🤓:
It’s incredible and will forever amaze me how a sensor works and even the mirror system of SLRs and DSLRs… don’t even get me started on Film (oh lord). As well as continuing to meet loads of the amazing creatives in and around Leigh on Sea as well as everywhere else.
