My heart is exploding with love and gratitude for the most amazing and magical shower and birthday weekend💓 My women flew in from all over the country to celebrate our baby girl, me as a mother and Ron as a partner and dad. Coincidentally the shower fell on my 37th birthday and a full moon which made it all that much more emotional, heartfelt and special. We shared food, laughter, tears, advice, intentions, memories and blessings. Thank you all for making it the most special day that I will remember and recollect for my entire life. 🩷

What a morning at Florida’s Antique Mall! Today we had the extreme honor of hosting @charleybelcher with @fox13.news for a morning of live segments from inside the mall, and we had an absolute blast! Huge shoutout to our team for stepping up and making the place look amazing, and especially to the vendors who rolled in at 6AM ready to have some fun with us on live TV. Our vendors are truly what make this place so special. More than 300 different people, personalities, collections and styles all under one roof. You seriously never know what you’re going to find here, and that’s half the fun. We’re incredibly proud of this place, proud of our people and excited to keep showing Florida what the resurgence of secondhand looks like. Thank you Charley and the FOX 13 crew for hanging out with us this morning. Come back anytime!

A few weeks ago, I had the honor of attending the invite-only Psychedelic Medicine Coalition Summit at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. It’s a turbulent and exciting time for the future of psychedelics, both in terms of medicine and law, and the conference organizers did an incredible job of bringing together many of the people actually making the decisions that will shape our society for decades or even centuries to come. The conversations around implementation, procedure, and the opportunities created by the new psychedelic Executive Order were fascinating. Things are changing fast and there are a lot of opportunities out there for those who are well positioned to take them. But, while much of the focus was understandably on policy, procedure, and implementation, it’s also essential that human rights, cognitive liberty, and the lessons we must carry forward from decades of the War on Drugs remain central to these conversations as the field continues to evolve. As psychedelic reform moves ahead, our goal cannot simply be to replace one legal framework with another. We must ensure we’re building systems rooted in equity, freedom, and justice — not creating new pathways that leave people criminalized, excluded, or incarcerated. As we continue to explore this brand new world, we must keep human liberty at the center of each regulatory decision that is made or we will quickly find ourselves trapped in the same quagmire we are fighting to pull ourselves out of now, one that has held back science and public health for decades and destroyed millions of lives in the process.

On Wednesday, May 13, 2026, our team had the honor of standing in Washington D.C. alongside 44 organizations advocating for education, reform, compassion, and the right for people to have options when it comes to healing and wellness. Together, 2,148 letters were delivered to Congress supporting 13 bills and educating all 541 offices in the House and Senate. As veterans, this work is deeply personal. We’ve watched veterans and everyday people struggle in silence while searching for solutions that actually improve quality of life. We’ve also seen people rebuild their lives through community, movement, mindfulness, fitness, spirituality, purpose, connection, and plant medicine. This week was a reminder that these conversations are growing fast and people across the country are ready for change. It was powerful standing beside advocates, researchers, nonprofit leaders, medical professionals, students, and community members all united around one belief: people deserve education, options, and the freedom to make informed decisions about their health and healing. Huge thank you to @ssdpofficial @decriminalizenow for organizing such an impactful Unity Week and bringing together so many incredible organizations and voices committed to meaningful change. Balanced Veterans Network is proud to represent veterans nationwide seeking healthier, more balanced lives after service. Cannabis Week of Unity is stronger every year and we are closer to reaching our @decriminalizenow coalition goals! We worked hard and played hard and I feel honored to do so alongside @ssdpofficial, @drugpolicyalliance, @natlnorml, @balancedveterans, @freedomgrowforever, @beardbrospharms, @latinocannalliance and so many other fabulous organizations who are really doing the work. We dropped off hundreds of folders with information about bills our reps can support, letters they can sign on to, and had small group meetings with representatives and staffers to remind them that they work for us. A conversation that really struck me was in a republican representative’s office who thought the recent executive order on descheduling cannabis meant that everything was “all good” and it’s decriminalized now. It was a ripe opportunity to educate and share the facts of the matter. Simple but real conversations, real reflections, and real actions were made this week and it won’t stop until our friends are out of jails, their records expunged and their rights are restored. #decriminalizenow

You can feel the community the second you walk in, and we’re already looking forward to hosting future events there. These conversations matter. Education matters. Advocacy matters. The momentum building around veteran mental health, healing access, and responsible policy reform is something powerful to witness firsthand, and we’re grateful to have a seat at the table as this movement continues to grow. Yesterday our team had the honor of attending the Psychedelic Medicine Coalition (@psychedelicmedicinecoalition ) Federal Summit and a veteran health symposium in Washington, D.C.. To sit in rooms filled with congressional representatives, doctors, researchers, scientists, advocates, veterans, and nonprofit leaders all focused on the future of mental health and breakthrough therapies was incredibly powerful. The conversations happening right now around psychedelic medicine, trauma recovery, veteran suicide prevention, policy reform, and access to care are real, serious, and moving faster than ever before. What stood out most was the momentum. People from all sides are beginning to recognize that veterans and struggling Americans deserve more options, more education, and the right to explore safe, evidence-based treatments that could genuinely change and save lives. These conversations are no longer happening in the shadows. They are happening at the national level with leaders, lawmakers, and world-class researchers at the table. There is still a tremendous amount of education, advocacy, and legislation needed to move this forward responsibly, but the energy in DC was undeniable. Change is happening. A huge shoutout to Melissa Lavasani and the entire PMC team for the unbelievable attention to detail, professionalism, and excellence throughout the summit. We are deeply grateful to have been included in these conversations. An immense thank you as well to Dr. Rachel Yehuda, whose work has inspired so many in the veteran mental health space. Meeting and learning from pioneers like her reminds us why this mission matters so much. And to all the incredible connections made this week in Washington DC… thank you. The future of healing will be built through courageous conversations, collaboration, science, advocacy, and community. Thank you to the politicians leaning in, learning and taking action. Balance is built, not found.

This week, our team at Balanced Veterans Network was in Washington, D.C. standing alongside advocates, researchers, veterans, and leaders fighting for something simple: the freedom for people to heal. Our team was able to speak on behalf of veterans around the nation. We will share that soon. At BVN, we believe veterans should have the right to access therapies that are helping save lives. Education and research matter, and we fully support both, but the reality is this conversation can’t stay stuck in endless debate while veterans continue dying. Veterans die by suicide at significantly higher rates than the general population. Too many are still suffering in silence while effective tools, plant medicines, and breakthrough therapies remain buried under stigma, policy barriers, and outdated systems. What we witnessed in D.C. this week was real movement. Real conversations. Real collaboration. Real people pushing for change. From walking the halls of Congress to sitting in rooms filled with policymakers, researchers, nonprofit leaders, and fellow advocates, the momentum is undeniable. The connections made and friendships formed this week were built on mutual respect, shared purpose, and a commitment to helping people heal. A huge thank you to Students for Sensible Drug Policy leadership, Decriminalize Now, and every advocate who showed up, shared their story, educated others, and fought for a better future. Thank you will never be enough. Balanced Veterans Network will continue standing up for the veterans, families, and individuals who feel unheard, overlooked, or left behind. We are here for the people who cannot keep waiting.
