A little after 8 PM, just as the last sunlight disappeared, I caught this moment beneath the Brooklyn Bridge: a passerby walking through the frame with the N train rolling behind them.

I waited for the train, the silhouette, and the lines of the walkway to come together. The headlights added a glow, the shadows gave the scene depth, and that split second of motion turned an ordinary walk into a nighttime street portrait. No pose, no second take—just timing, composition, and the city doing its thing.

A little movement. A lot of love.

Photographing Thelma as she prepares to welcome her bundle of joy was such a beautiful moment. For this maternity shoot, I brought the portrait to life with a flip art inspired edit, using motion capture to show the gentle movement of her hands across her belly.

I love how the close framing, soft light, and movement turn one quiet moment into a story. Every frame holds the anticipation of meeting someone she already loves so much.

One photography teacher. Three frames. A whole transformation.

We stepped outside the classroom for a special effects photo shoot, with my photography teacher as the subject. I started with a nighttime portrait, using the warm streetlights and cool blue tones to set the mood. Then I worked with layers, opacity, and light trails in Photoshop to make it look like he was astral projecting out of himself. In the final frame, he becomes a glowing stick figure walking right out of the shot.

The smaller picture at the bottom gives you another angle, almost as if the scene were captured from a parallel universe. Its grainy, low-light look adds to the mystery.

I loved turning this class assignment into a visual story, one frame at a time.

Last month, Ashley and I turned one of the HOTTEST days of August into a two-day fashion photography experience!

Day one took us to Orchard Beach, where we worked with natural light, outdoor composition, movement, angles, posing, and those beautiful summer tones. The heat was definitely working overtime, but so were our cameras!

Then we switched the entire visual story for our studio shoot. This was where I really got to step into one of my favorite roles: Creative Director. I developed a Frozen Ice Frost Princess concept and brought it to life through lighting, composition, color grading, retouching, special effects, and one of my favorite creative tools: PHOTOSHOP.

From the original concept to the shutter click to the final edit, I love being able to take an idea in my head and transform it into a complete visual story. Photography is more than pointing a camera. It is directing the vision, controlling the light, capturing the right frame, and creating something completely different in post-production.

Ashley understood the assignment, and we created some amazing frames together!

Another classic Veggie Grill moment captured through my lens.

Uncle Butch at the center of the frame with Myrna, celebrating good food, great energy, and even better memories. And judging by those smiles and expressions, that carrot cake definitely understood the assignment. Could you believe everything was VEGAN? Even that delicious carrot cake.

These are the moments I love capturing. The candid expressions, natural smiles, perfect timing, composition, lighting, and those unscripted frames that tell an entire story. Every click of the shutter captured another memory. Photography is more than exposure, focus, and pressing the shutter. It is about freezing a feeling in time.

A huge thank you and kudos to my old employer, Veggie Grill. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to be one of your on-site photographers and trusting my creative eye to capture special moments through my lens. Thank you as well for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to step into a management position. Those experiences helped add another chapter to both my professional journey and my photography portfolio.

I truly miss you guys. I miss my old staff, I miss my old employees, and I miss the company. Love you guys and miss you guys so much. Veggie Grill will always have a special place in my heart and in my photo archives.

Summer brunch memories at Tavern 29

Nothing beats spending quality time with family. This summer, I had the chance to enjoy an amazing brunch at Tavern 29 with my brother and my cousin. Good food, great energy, plenty of laughs, and memories that definitely deserved a spot in the frame.

As a photographer, I am always looking at life through a different lens. The lighting, composition, candid expressions, colors, angles, depth of field, and those perfectly unplanned moments all help tell the story. Sometimes the best photographs are not posed. The shutter simply catches genuine happiness at exactly the right moment.

I also have to give major kudos to the brunch chef. The food was absolutely delicious, and you could taste the effort, creativity, and care that went into every dish. The staff was extremely nice and provided excellent hospitality from beginning to end. The rooftop was beautifully set up and decorated, creating the perfect backdrop and atmosphere for brunch, family time, and photography.

Photography is more than ISO, aperture, shutter speed, framing, and focus. It is about freezing a moment that will never happen exactly the same way again. One click of the shutter can turn a summer brunch into a memory you can revisit for years.

Family in the frame. Good vibes in focus. Great food on the table. Memories captured.

One of my favorite food memories from Long Island. I honestly can’t remember the name of the restaurant, but I definitely remember how delicious the food was.

Instead of the traditional shrimp and grits, they switched things up with chicken and grits, and I loved the concept. The chicken came in different flavors, including Habanero, Barbecue, Teriyaki, and Sweet and Sour. Each flavor brought something completely different to the plate.

This is why I love food photography. Even when you forget the name of a restaurant, a great photograph can take you right back to the experience, the presentation, and most importantly, the flavor.

If anybody recognizes this Long Island restaurant from the chicken and grits, let me know because I would definitely love to go back. #cronlensesapp

VEGGIE GRILL THROUGH MY LENS :
Another Throwback from 2021

One of my favorite memories from managing Veggie Grill NYC was also getting behind the camera and photographing food for the website.

This Mexican Bowl was one of my favorites to shoot and eat.

Vibrant color. Clean composition. Natural texture. Perfect lighting.

Management meets photography.

SAGE CHICKEN AND WAFFLES THROUGH MY LENS

Throwback to my 2018 birthday trip to Las Vegas, when I had the pleasure of visiting Sage Chicken and Waffles. Of course, I had to pull out my camera before picking up my fork.

For this food photography session, I experimented with multiple angles, tight framing, depth of field, focal points, and perspective to capture every detail of the crispy chicken and waffles.

I focused on composition, exposure, highlights, shadows, texture, and color balance, using the available lighting to give each shot dimension and bring the food to life. Changing my shooting angle allowed me to create a completely different visual story with every frame.

One plate. Multiple perspectives. Great food and even better memories behind the lens.

A little throwback to Veggie Grill when they were here in New York City. Some of the best vegan food I’ve ever had, especially all the different salads.

I had the pleasure of not only enjoying the food but also working with them, which made the experience even more special. Great food, great memories, and a place I definitely miss having in NYC. I wish they were still here!
