In the middle of a mini tour with Jocelyn Gould and the energy is so good! Jocelyn and I just discovered that we both sing Mas Que Nada in f minor (and in Portuguese!) so of course we had to try singing it together! Haha - so much fun! Two more shows at The Jazz Corner tonight! The 9:00 pm show may still have reservations, just give them a call! And thanks to everyone who came out to Nickel & Oak and last night’s Jazz Corner shows - so nice to see you all!

Jackson and I are SO EXCITED to have international jazz guitarist and @benedetto_guitars artist Jocelyn Gould back in town this week for a string of performances in Savannah, Charleston and Hilton Head! Jackson first invited Jocelyn to Savannah in 2019 and since then we’ve coordinated yearly performances, making this year our seventh annual mini tour de low country. Given Jocelyn’s insane tour schedule (260 days this year!) we are super lucky that she was able to squeeze us in before she heads to Taiwan.

Playing with Jocelyn is always a treat - her jazz guitar approach is both sophisticated and virtuosic and her precise, understated vocals are always a stunning surprise. Selfishly, I love playing with another female musician who has such a strong command of her instrument!! I cannot recommend her playing enough - if you love music you need to check this out!! The three of us will be joined by one of my faves, Charleston-based drummer Ron Wiltrout.

Here’s the schedule! Hope to see you there!

CHARLESTON: Wednesday 10/07, @fortejazzlounge (with bassist @brettbelanger )

SAVANNAH: Thursday 10/08 8:00 pm @nickelandoaklounge

HILTON HEAD: Friday 10/09 and Saturday 10/10 @thejazzcornerhhi *tickets still available for 9:00 pm shows

Giving the bass some room over Bill Withers’ Grandma’s Hands.

Sometimes all you need is a great song, a simple groove, and space to let everybody speak.

Taking the outro of The Beatles’ Blackbird for a little walk.

One of my favorite parts of playing live — when the song ends, but the music doesn’t quite have to yet.

Still riding the high from last night. ❤️

A packed room, an incredible crowd, and so much love for the music. Thank you to everyone who came out, listened, supported us, and made the night feel so special.

Can’t wait to do it again.
