These Open Sessions serve to maintain our artistic training - wether you come from theatre, circus, dance, music or performance.
We don‘t offer technical of your craft- we build space to train improvisation, train interdisciplinary communication, and to train postmodern and non- hierarchical thinking.

The method, developed by many artists and shaped by Mary Overly, Anne Bogart and Tina Landau, does not belong to one art form. It‘ s a way of practical artistic thinking.

Some of us use it as a second layer, that we add to our core work such as acting or clown.

Our Open Session are open for professional artists and art teachers that already know the basics. We train, explore and connect.

See you soon!

What Petra needed wasn't a generic rehab program but a training plan built around her body, her history and where she wanted to get back to !

That's what Kat built for her.

Mobility, stability and strength to reconnect the shoulder with the rest of the body, after her injury.

👉 In this rehab session, glimpse of exercise with variety: ring row to relearn how to initiate movement from the scapula, a full body pulling pattern to reconnect the shoulder with the core or kettlebell work for dynamic stability.

This is what personalized training looks like at BML : understanding what the body needs to come back stronger ✨

"I really don't know if I can".
Petra is a circus artist. After a shoulder injury, this movement felt out of reach. So we didn't push, we rebuilt, step by step. And then, she did it ☺️

This is what training is about : not forcing your body but helping it get back to what it's capable of !

So proud of her !!

You see- and hear- some moments of our March Open Session.

We met for two hours in room 206 @theaterhaus.berlin .

We started with personal stories about loneliness and overwhelm caused by bureaucracy, distribution inequality and economic pressure caused by motherhood.
Next layer was a fun one: voyager tarot. We pulled nutricion the first time and harvest plus priestess the second time.

A flute and a calimba produced the soundtrack.

We left light, flowing and with a smile, turning back to our very different projects in the arts and life.

Next Open Session is probably on April 10th.
We keep you updated: here and via newsletter.

We will work with different materials, each a surprise to all of us:

We will all together decide how we work with our different input.

Gemeinsam entstand etwas Besonderes:„U lісі бажань – Im Wald der Wünsche“.

🇺🇦💛💙

Signature trick and costume killer, inspired by @nriccirope

Today I had a super interesting conversation with @ropepet about the beginnings of aerial rope. When it was not fashionable to do rope.
The tricks which now are common have all started with someone researching during years different movements, knots and training methodology.

Standing on the shoulders of giants!

✨Enjoy this sparkling new trailer! ✨Thanks to @sophia0silver you can catch a glimps at our last Introductory Workshop for Viewpoints Training and Compositions @tatwerk_berlin. Thank you so much Sophia! 🥰 ✨ In December 24 we spend two joyful and intense days @tatwerk_berlin . The group was a bunch of artists from the fields acting, directing, film ( as you can see in the trailer😉), circus and teaching. ⭐️ On the first day we jumped into a very brief theory and a long practical exploration of the 9 Viewpoints after Bogart/Landau - using them as well for performer’s training and performance analysis. The second day we worked with music and dived into the creation method „compositions“. Do you also love to physically explore postdamatic philisophy of performance, creating and ongoing artistic training? We offer another Workshop at @uferstudios_tanz_berlin on 2025 March 22/23 ♥️
The instructors are @lucianaarcuri @marina_dessau @sara.spennemann Save your spot via PM or our Website: www.viewpoints-training.de We are exited to meet you 💫 #viewpointstraining #democraticart #postdramatik #acting #performance #directing #contemporaryperformance #zeitgenössischerzirkus #workshop #theatervermittlung

.. and some more impressions from our December workshop … day 2, working with Compositions (after Bogart/Landau). This time many participants dared to pick a solo. Solos can be challenging when working with Compositions for the first time. And each solo turned out to be a gem. Thank you again! Also @tatwerk_berlin for the nice space!
