Pastor Duke and Joellen are just those kind of people….you know, the kind who live and love like Jesus! Their lives were radically changed during the Jesus Movement, and they answered God’s call to become pioneer church planters right here in the Capital Region. Long before Roscoe and I ever arrived, they were praying, planting, serving, believing, and breaking up hard ground for the Gospel. Because of their faithfulness, the soil was richer when we arrived. They helped pave the way not only for us, but for so many pastors and churches who have come after them. We know that we are standing on the shoulders of people who went before us, and Pastor Duke and Joellen are two of those people! From the moment we came to this area, they loved us, encouraged us, prayed for us, and believed that God would use the calling He placed on our lives. There has never been competition, only encouragement. They have modeled what it looks like to believe that we are not churches competing with one another, but THE Church, working together to reach our region for Jesus. That kind of kingdom unity is a legacy worth honoring!!! It’s so important! We love Pastor Duke and Joellen, and we especially love when they come worship with us at Starpoint! Every time I see them, I’m reminded that we didn’t start this story. We simply get to carry forward what faithful men and women before us helped begin. We stand on their shoulders with so much gratitude.❤️ Thank you, Duke and Joellen, for saying yes to Jesus all those years ago, for tilling the rocky soil, for paving the way, and for continuing to cheer on the next generation.💪👏 We honor you. Today, my husband launched Family Reunion 518, bringing pastors from across the Capital District together for breakfast, encouragement, and connection. What an incredible room filled with faithful men of God who carry so much as they lead and love their churches. These pastors and churches are not competing with one another. They are for one another! Pastor Matt Eaches shared so powerfully from a deeply personal place after recently losing his father: “He must increase, but I must decrease.” John 3:30 The foundation of ministry is not the efforts, influence, or recognition of any pastor. It is making much of Jesus and less of ourselves. Will you join me in praying for these pastors, their families, and the churches they lead? Pray for renewed strength, deep friendships, unity across our region, and revival throughout the Capital District. I believe this is only the beginning. My oldest daughter, Annabelle, began a new chapter in her new apartment with her new roommate, Ella! The story of how these two girls ended up roommates is one only God could write. ❤️ Twenty- plus ++ years ago, when I was a sophomore in college, I met Ella’s mom, Allison in her hometown of CT, visiting my college roommate and dear friend, @eejbarber Jill. Roscoe and I were also friends with Ella’s dad, Tim. We all ended up in Jill’s wedding together, where Allison and Tim fell in love! Tim & Allison and their twins would meet us every year for ice cream when they vacationed in our area. Our kids looked forward to this quick visit every year. Fast forward 26 years, and now our daughters are roommates. How crazy and amazing is that?! These girls are both so precious. They love Jesus, love people, and have the best time no matter what they’re doing. I couldn’t be more excited that they get to share this season of life together. It’s moments like this that remind me how beautifully God weaves our stories together, often in ways we could never see coming. So excited for this year of friendship, fun, and making memories,for these two! God is so good! 🤍

Loved getting to hang with one of my favorite people on the planet this evening. Roscoe Lilly and I met nearly 20 years ago while we were both working on our DMin. He’s one of the greatest encouragers and leaders I know. He planted StarPoint Church in Albany, NY 27 years ago. What started with just his family has grown to a congregation that had over 3,000 people this past Easter. This guy is as faithful as they come! God is using Roscoe in a HUGE way and I always enjoy when we get time together. Grateful to the Lord for lifelong friends in ministry.

This weekend we had the joy of celebrating my in-laws’ 50th wedding anniversary surrounded by the people who love them most at their church in North Carolina. It was such a beautiful reminder that a marriage built on love, faith, and commitment only grows sweeter with time. They may have said “I do” as teenagers, but somehow they’re even more in love today than they were at 18. They truly are best friends, and it shows in the way they laugh together, encourage one another, and enjoy every season of life and ministry side by side. They’ve been amazing parents, grandparents, and now the most involved, loving great-grandparents. Their family is their greatest joy, and they pour into each generation with so much love and intention. Happy 50th anniversary @karenlilly1976 and Roscoe Sr. We were so blessed to celebrate with you! ❤️#50thanniversary
