Just picked up the most expensive “book” I’ll ever own 📚📗

My hard bound dissertation in all its glory!

5 years. 5 long, long years. Lots of tears, doubt, the most intense anxiety I’ve ever felt. But it is done and tomorrow I celebrate 👩‍🎓

Thank you again to:

The Canadian Museum for Human Rights @humanrights.ca
The Canadian Museum of History @canmushistory
The Royal Alberta Museum @royal_alberta_museum
The Royal British Columbia Museum @royalbcmuseum

The University of Leicester & the School of Museum Studies

Supervisors @katybunn1ng & @richardsandell_rcmg
Externals @profdanhicks & @stacyboldrick

And thank YOU all here - the recovery community. My journey was anything but linear. But I got here in the end. Thanks to you all xxx

Tomorrow is graduation day!

That feeling when your life starts coming together 🩷🙏

Thanks to Amgueddfa Cymru @museumwales & @museumsassociation for a fabulous conference in Wales this week!

Met so many amazing people and had so many thought provoking conversations!

As always, I walk away inspired and with a fire in my belly to keep making sure museums are inclusive to all publics! And safe spaces for ALL!

Museums are on the front lines of the Culture Wars.

Authoritarian states can weaponize museums by curating selective histories that glorify the state and silence dissent. Exhibitions can become tools of propaganda, shaping public memory and serving their own hegemonic power. Museums must resist!

I love that my museum practice is activist based and it’s so beautiful to come together for the greater good with likeminded individuals!

As always, none of this would have been possible with my sobriety… 🙏🩷

I’m so grateful for the gift to live my days fully and see all these amazing things!

It feels like everything is coming together 🩷

GTM’s final Perk and Ride of the season was a great success!

An eclectic mix of petrol, diesel and steam powered things enjoying the autumn sunshine, and I think blue was the most popular colour of the day 💙😍⭐️☀️🍂

I had a great drive out and back, enjoying the twisty turns and long straights in my mid enjoyed Hydragas sprung roadster, Mabel felt extra responsive today! 🚀

Eight of Aberdeenshire and beyond’s bravest car enthusiasts gathered for a delicious evening meal at The Captain’s Table within The Ship Inn, Stonehaven 🌊🐟⚓️⛴️

I had Feta and Spinach Spring Rolls to start and then battered haddock with chips and peas, both were fantastic!
