👀 Today we are on site at Cairnbulg, where we are being joined by a dedicated group of volunteers to clean-up this notorious litter sink site. We have been cleaning this area since 2018 and have removed more than 20 tonnes of waste since then (in addition local community groups and passionate individuals have also removed several tonnes over the years too). Hard to believe that just offshore is the Southern Trench Marine Protected Area (MPA) a 58 km long and 9 km wide glacial trough. Designated an MPA in 2020, it safeguards crucial feeding grounds for minke whales alongside burrowed muds and unique submarine geology. Looking forward to posting our progress later today! #waste #littersink #beachcleanup #cairnbulg #environment

Before the school holidays, Rosa spent the day speaking to Turriff Academy S1 pupils about caring for their environment as part of their RMPS studies. The pupils loved every second and had some great ideas for supporting their own environments too! If you're interested in kicking off term 4 with some engaging classroom sessions, get In touch - Rosa.payne@egcp.scot

After an exciting end to last week we've got even more exciting news this week! 🌞🌞🌞 With lots of hard work and volunteer Quines to get us rolling @tnluk and @sportscotland_ have awarded us with funding for the year! This means we can give even more women and girls access to learning to surf, learn essential water safety skills and explore the Aberdeenshire coast! We're absolutely over the moon with this news and we can't wait to share more of what we're getting up to this year. Thanks again for the support so far 🐬🌊🌞

It's time to meet our instructors for Girls Club! This week it's Rosie, a co-founder of Wavy Quines and all round water chick. Whether she's supporting the RNLI as a water safety advisor or teaching people to surf she's always ready to get stuck in! We're super excited to welcome our first Girls Club in April! Keep up to date with the rest of our instructors soon!

We've been working on this project... Introducing Girls Club! We know there's lots of kids out there who love to get outside and enjoy a break from the screens, so we thought why not run our first ever girls club! This fun filled two day club in collaboration with @scotsurfs and @ttptnortheast allows girls from ages 10 to 14 years old to experience the beautiful joy of surfing whilst learning essential water safety skills, skating and environmental consciousness. Sounds like something you know someone would enjoy? Check the link in our bio! PLEASE NOTE: WHEN BOOKING IT WILL BE UNDER AS ONE DAY BUT THIS IS BOOKING FOR BOTH DAYS !

A scorcher of a day in Aberdeen! A fantastic two lessons today! Despite the lack of waves the girls got stuck in to learning more about the environment, surf water skills and learning to maneuver and paddle effectively on our boards! We are so grateful for your enthusiasm today and you all smashed it!! Looking forward to getting more lessons up and running soon! X wavys
