It’s hard to put ten years into words… so we asked our community to try 🤍

What started as an idea has grown into a decade of thousands of people coming through our doors, hosting incredible workshops, trainings and community events, countless classes across modalities, and of course… endless memories of so many of you showing up for yourselves and for each other.

Ten years of training together, growing together, and finding joy through movement. To our longtime members and our newest faces: you are the reason we’re celebrating this week (and really the whole year!).

Thank you for being a part of our cOMMunity.

Don’t forget, tomorrow we’re celebrating at the studio and you’re invited! Space is limited for this free community event and we’re getting close to max capacity… so if you haven’t RSVP’d yet, call us at the studio or sign-up on our website.

We’ll start at 5:30 with a very special collaborative class, here are all of the details of what to expect:
• Symposium Class led together by 5 amazing Movement Leaders
• Light bites, beverages and smoothies from our friends @fuzzbeesmiami
• 10min ab activation sessions with @thetoxcoralgables
• A little gift for each attendee, from OMM to you 🤍
• Raffles to win amazing prizes

Raffle Prizes include…
* THREE $25 Gift Cards from Grove Bay Hospitality Group
* ONE 30 Day Unlimited Membership at OM Movement
* ONE Sculpting Session at The Tox Coral Gables
* TWO Rose Quartz Crystal Hearts & Larger Clusters
* TWO Moon & Jai Ritual Box Sets
* ONE OM Movement Yoga Mat

Here’s to the decade behind us, and the one just beginning. Consciousness in motion. Ten years strong. Let’s keep breathing forward, together. See you tomorrow 🥳

So what’s it like to train at OMM Sunday Strength at @ommovement ?
.
Well, I have a few basic rules that I like people to consider…
.
1) hydrate. That seems easy enough.
.
2) Protect Yourself. I pride myself on being able to scale and adjust exercises in the moment no matter how many people are in the room or how complicated the workout is that day. This gives you the mental space to challenge yourself and maybe fail at something tricky in a space that feels safe to dust off and go again.
.
3) Your workout’s difficulty is determined by you. By the time Sunday afternoon comes around, I’ve already done all MY exercise for the week. So I don’t need to workout vicariously through anybody. If you’re with me that day to lift heavy and go to bed sore, I gotchu. If you just wanna get a sweat and then enjoy the Grove, I’ve also gotchu.
.
My goal for any given class is to take every mover in the room and create a practice that produces some wins and some safe losses, some things to think about and a reason to be excited to come back and enjoy some training. I’m not a lot of yelling and barking about how everyone has the same hours and blah blah blahhhhhh. I AM a whole lotta dad jokes and gas-ups and gentle encouragement.
.
If that’s your vibe, you may wanna come hang 💪🏽 🤙🏽

TIME FOR A FLOW JAM!!
.
Join @the.lofi.samurai and @getlyonstrong for some Animal Flow fun!
.
A “flow jam” is an informal practice meant to introduce movers of a wide variety of skill levels to the practice of Animal Flow. This jam will be on Saturday March 15th at 10:00am and will be focused on beginner level practitioners. Movers of all skill levels are welcome and there will be something for every skill level. This practice will be a “flow skills” class where we’ll be practicing a sequence of movements built into a flow.

Continuing my education is so important to me. It’s another one of my core values. I haven’t been to a conference in person since before Covid, before I had my son, so this was a real treat for me. I learned so much and met so many amazing people. I love being able to take all this knowledge and apply it to my clients to improve their experience. #raisethebar #fitnessconference #fitpro #continuingeducation #neverstoplearning #personaltrainerlife #onlinetrainer

ONE WEEK AWAY!
.
.
International Animal Flow Day is Monday August 28! This Monday, I will be hosting a FREE Animal Flow class on the Turf of Peacock Park across the street from @ommovement to celebrate IAFD.
.
.
Animal Flow has been my main movement practice since 2020 and in many ways has been the glue that connects my different movement practices. My strength work, my grappling and my yoga practice have all seen benefit from my practice and understanding of Animal Flow. It’s a practice I love sharing and I’m looking forward to sharing it with all of you. I hope to see you there 🤙🏽

AF On Demand. Weekly practice designed by Master Instructor @madelineberky
.
.
Was interesting to hear her talk about how she designed this flow during a time when “things felt heavy” for her. I know I lean into my practice as one of the ways I hard reset my mind and get head and heart in sync with each other again before I make hard decisions or press through hard situations. I had a coach colleague who told me that whenever he has a new client who seems to be overwhelmed with life circumstances, he has then powerlift. The idea behind that strategy is that the workouts are quick, they produce noticeable strength gains, and they give the client a sense of empowerment. They see themselves over some hard stuff in the gym, and hopefully “I can overcome/do/beat hard stuff” becomes the message they take with them when they leave.
.
.
Whatever that movement is for you, I hope you have time for it this week. Movement without a sense of obligation. No trackers or watches or intense programming. Just joy. Because you deserve it.
