Radio Crimen #8.7

Suenan:

ROBBER
ROSE TATTOO
CARDENALES
POLANSKI Y EL ARDOR
MERCY
KORO
SKINT
A TUMBA ABIERTA
FLEMA
2 MINUTOS
SINESTESIA

Doing this a little differently because my musical journey just doesn’t fit the template. #my9albums are as follows. 1. My Dad used to play his record collection to us kids all the time, I still love early #rocknroll to this day. 2. Dr Feelgood by @motleycrue was the first #album I bought with my paper round money, I bought it on tape and still have that tape to this day. 3. Ride was my introduction to @metallica I had no idea what I was listening to but I knew I wanted more. 4. I discovered @morbidangelband in high school and this was the first record I heard, I’m still discovering riffs and parts of this masterpiece to this day. 5. N.W.A. As a white kid in Australian suburbia I had no idea how real this record was, I still sing along to it today, I don’t care which lefty I upset! 6. The first time I listened to @slayerbandofficial was when I borrowed a copy of South from an older kid. I was instantly hooked. 7. @rosetattooband …what can I say, others have been more successful, sold more records and played to bigger crowds but the Tatts are the most important band in Australian music history. 8. Sepultura opened my ears to music that wasn’t from Australia, America or England, Beneath The Remains is a classic, is it trash? Is it Death? I don’t care, it’s perfect. 9. Let There Be Rock by @acdc is the greatest Rock n’ Roll record ever made and I’m happy to die on that hill! Jx

It was an absolute honour to be part of Angry Anderson’s farewell. So much heart in the speeches and so much love in the room.

It also had me thinking about what we all leave behind and the impact we have on our family and wider community.

Angry’s legacy goes far beyond his music. His appearance, and perhaps even some of his choice words, might have confused some, but it’s even more clear today that he was a symbol of love, strength and respect, with a genuine communal spirit. Someone who gave so much of himself to people from all walks of life, whether he knew them personally or not.

I feel so privileged to have known him.

Sending much love to Angry, his family and the entire Rose Tattoo community. ❤️

One year of music photography.

One year of my wildest dreams coming to fruition.

What a journey it has been, I have been able to attend a plethora of incredible events with show-stopping acts and electric crowds. As a fan of music and all things creative, this has felt the least bit like a job, and more so a blessing.

I am eternally grateful to everyone who has worked with me from the very beginning, for trusting me, and for welcoming me into their space and letting me capture them in their truest form.

From the openers, to headliners, and the crowd there to support, you all have given me the greatest gift of all just by existing.

To @we.are.pulse, thank you for being the first band to work with me, that gig was such a pivotal moment in my life. If not for that, I would never have thought to go down the path that I have.

Most importantly, to my dad @themasterofmuscle, you are the best mentor I could’ve ever asked for. Since I first picked up a camera, you recognised my passion and made me feel seen. Thank you for believing in me, I will never take your support for granted.

Cheers to 365 days, bring on the next lot!

♥️
