Call for donations 📣📣📣

We’re collecting artwork, zines, books and pre-loved clothing to raise funds for direct aid to children and families facing systemic barriers to education in Afghanistan (@rosha_ev ), Iran, and First Nations young people here at home (@niyec_mob)

On Friday 21 November, 5–10pm, we’re hosting a bazaar of live music, poetry, performance, visual art and culture, bringing our Melbourne community together for a shared cause.

Besides music there’ll be an art market and delicious homemade Afghan food on Saturday so bring cash 😌

Our organising initiatives @rosha_ev and @afghanpunkzine will have tables, alongside work by one of our talented artists @ariakhalil.official , whose new gorgeous album artwork was designed by @hornyhorsedsgn .

We’re also really grateful that Patastoo and @khatoon_resturant.20 are showing us some love by cooking for us. They’ll be serving homemade Afghan food, from bolani to kabob to sheer yakh (Afghan ice cream), whether you’re after a small snack or a full meal.

Make sure to check out @khatoon_resturant.20 restaurant (and their tiktok!!) in Wedding and their sheer yakh stand at Alexanderplatz because they are one of the best in this town! Thanks for feeding us and being part of this.

What is the age limit?
Please note that this is an 18+ event.

Can I buy tickets at the door?
Yes, a limited number of tickets will be available at the door, subject to capacity. Cash only.

I have a ticket but I can’t come. Can I get a refund?
No, the tickets are not refundable.

How do I get to the venue?
Marmorbar is a short walk from Schlesisches Tor U Bahn station. We recommend arriving by
public transit, as parking nearby is limited.

What should I bring?
Please bring your digital ticket (sent via email), a valid photo ID. If you purchased a reduced
ticket please bring the correlating document (e.g. student ID, Berlin Pass, Leistungsbescheid).

What is your bag policy?
Small and medium sized bags are welcome. Security will inspect bags upon entry.

What are the accessibility notes of the venue?
Marmorbar and its bathroom facilities are unfortunately not fully wheelchair accessible. Entry to the venue involves 3–5 steps, assistance may be required. Our Awareness Team is here to
assist you. We offer reduced/accessibility tickets that include free entry for accompanying
companions, plus fast-track entry at the door.

Can I bring my own food or drinks?
No. Outside food and drinks are not permitted. We will have food stands and market vendors

What are the payment methods available at the venue?
Tickets at the door (Abendkasse) and markets and vendors are cash only. The venue bar accepts card payments.

Can I take photos and videos with my phone?
No. There is a photobooth as well as our own photographer and videographer who document
while being mindful of the privacy of other guests.

Will there be an Awareness Team on site?
Yes, an awareness team is present on site

Sarkash سرکش Underground is a collaborative initiative born from a partnership between the Berlin-based non-profit Roshā e.V. and Afghan Punk.

Roshā e.V. is a Berlin-Kabul based non-profit organization committed to creating spaces for empowerment and community led change. Roshā supports Afghan families in strengthening literacy, health, confidence, and self determination while building opportunities for long term social participation and solidarity.

Afghan Punk began as a magazine and evolved into a platform where art & collective imagination exist in relation to one another as an artistic practice. Through publishing, organizing, visual art, and writing, it attempts to stand on emancipatory ground and allow stories to exist in a way that is raw, political and vulnerable. The platform’s vision is to continuously find new ways to (re)envision futurities.
