I’ve been on two retreats this year, and I cannot overestimate how much growth, perspective and connection is possible when we allow ourselves to step away from our usual environment, go inwards, and create the space to hear what’s been calling us.

There’s something powerful about getting out of the routines and environments that shape so much of how we move through life.

When we slow down, we have the opportunity to see ourselves, our choices and our lives from a different perspective. We can release what we’ve been carrying, reconnect with parts of ourselves we may have lost touch with, and make space for what we already know deep down but perhaps haven’t been ready to listen to.

And then there’s the connection.

Being surrounded by people who are also willing to pause, reflect and be vulnerable creates another level of depth that can be difficult to access in everyday life.

At both retreats, I left with more clarity, more perspective, and a closer relationship with myself and the people I was with.

That’s exactly what me and @roslynmclarty are building for our retreat next month in Upstate New York.

Two nights for a small group of kind, ambitious, growth-oriented women to step away, go inward, and reconnect with themselves and each other.

There’s something so inspiring about being in a room full of creative people who genuinely want to connect, share ideas, and support each other. 💕

Today I got to experience the Gist Creator Community event in San Diego, discover the app, meet so many amazing creators, make our own fun bracelets, and connect with some truly inspiring women.

One of my favorite moments was meeting one of the women behind Gist. Our conversation was such a beautiful reminder that women supporting women can be incredibly powerful. Sometimes a few encouraging words from the right person are exactly what you need to leave feeling even more motivated to keep creating.

More creativity, more real connections, and more women cheering each other on. This is the kind of creator community I want to be part of. ✨

🦁 Is it just me or do we need more *actually* kid-inclusive and whole-family rituals?

99% of the things I get invited to on me only which is tough as a working mom who doesn’t get to see her kids as much as I’d like to anyway.

Childcare is expensive and evenings are tough when you have kids waking up early in the morning.

And yeah… A lot of the events I go to say it’s totally fine to bring your kid… But there’s nothing there for them to do so unless they’re a sit down and shut up kind of little one — good luck trying to *truly* participate.

This one thing church is getting really right! There’s always a place for adults to worship and kids to worship nearby…

And before someone says it, I am willing to admit this could be a white woman problem. Or more diverse, spiritual spaces, including kids in a more literal and supportive way?
