Grab your costumes, lawn chairs or a blanket, bring the whole family, and join us for community fun and fall favorites kicking off at 4pm!

Coming early? Join us for a special pre-festival Pilates class on the lawn at 3pm, courtesy of Studio Pilates!

📍 Meet us on South Oxford Road and the lawn across from Domino’s beginning at 4pm, when festival activities kick off.

🐶 There’s Trunk or Treat at the Savi Parking Lot, the blessing of the animals for your furry friends at the Emory Gate and a hands-on experience with ham radio.

👻 The costume parade will begin at 5pm along Oxford Road. (You might even win a prize!)

🦆 You won’t want to miss the duck race starting at 5:45pm at Burbanck Park.

🫧 Other festival favorites include the GA Bubble Man’s famous giant bubbles, a sidewalk chalk contest, yard games, the DeKalb Fire truck and SWAT vehicle.

🌮 Come hungry! Enjoy tacos from Los Niños Taqueria, warm up with hot apple cider, sample Harvest bowls from Sweetgreen, and then settle in for movie night.

📽️ Then, as the sun goes down, stick around for one or both of our movies under the stars. The Nightmare Before Christmas begins at dusk, followed by Shaun of the Dead at 8:30pm

🎟️ Don’t forget to purchase your tickets for EVA’s 50/50 raffle. One lucky winner will take home half of the proceeds, while the remaining funds will support Village improvement projects and community events such as Fall Festival and Light Up the Village, all spearheaded by the volunteer-led Emory Village Alliance.

There is a name for it. It is not a bad habit.

Hair pulling, skin picking, nail biting, and cheek biting are body-focused repetitive behaviors, or BFRBs. The International OCD Foundation notes they usually start in childhood or adolescence.

Stress is often part of it, but not all of it. For many people, the behavior helps them relax or settle. That is part of why “just stop” misses the point.

Habit reversal training (HRT) and comprehensive behavioral treatment (ComB) are two approaches used for BFRBs. Neither is the ERP (exposure and response prevention) used for OCD. The TLC Foundation for BFRBs notes that “no one treatment has been found to be effective for everyone.”

One thing to try: look up bfrb.org together.

General information, not clinical advice. In crisis, call or text 988.
