POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
On view this weekend at our PAD London booth is Rowan Mersh’s Asabikeshiinh (Dreamcatcher).

This large-scale work marks an ambitious new frontier in this ongoing series that is both monumental in scale and precise in detail. Intricately realised for the first time in cast bronze, this suspended work expresses Mersh’s focus on how natural forms create new visual languages through accumulation.

Join us at booth A24 at PAD London over the weekend to experience Mersh’s Dreamcatcher.

25 People Shaping Dubai’s Cultural Scene

Who are the tastemakers, curators and creators keeping Dubai at the top of its global game?

To outsiders, Dubai may sparkle with skyscrapers and supercars, but insiders know the city’s true magic is shaped by its behind-the-scenes set – the people shaping Dubai’s cultural scene and steering its momentum. Beyond the spotlight, a constellation of tastemakers and creative catalysts is constantly redefining the city’s global allure. Be it gallerists with a knack for spotting the next big thing to nightlife founders who know how to choreograph a room, this group forms the city’s quiet power set – its cultural ringmasters, if you will. Dubai would still shine without them, but with them, it dazzles like nowhere else on earth. So who are today’s movers and shakers?

Ambika Hinduja Macker, Artist and Curator

Artist and curator Ambika Hinduja Macker operates at the intersection of Dubai’s ambition, India’s dynastic creativity, and the international art world’s brightest talents. From her @DIFC base, she connects wealthy patrons and a global roster of artists (think Mathieu Lehanneur @mathieulehanneur and Joseph Walsh @josephwalshstudio) through her multidisciplinary studio and impeccably curated shows. Artists with an interest in the Gulf need to be in Hinduja Macker’s orbit.

‘Pithvava Mini’ by Rowan Marsh in ‘Materials of Joy: FUMI in New York’
Presented by Gallery FUMI and Galerie56

Rowan Mersh is a British artist known for wall based sculptural works that combine a strong physical structure with a soft and organic visual effect. His pieces are built by hand from thousands of individual components, each selected for its shape, texture and sculptural quality. He works with responsibly sourced materials including shell, wood and marble dust, arranging them indense formations that recall feathers, coral, fur and other natural patterns. The result is work that feels both highly detailed and expansive, with a strong sense of movement across the surface. His sculptures are held in collections including the Victoria and Albert Museum, Jerwood and The Crafts Council, and his commissions include projects for Fendi, Veuve Clicquot and the Mercury Music Prize.
