Magic Circle’s 4th annual winter fundraiser for @bushwickayudamutua was awesome !!! ❄️🧣💛

thank you everyone for voting, donating beautiful handmade pieces, and joining us for the craft circle and auction! And @cleosyarnshop for 4th year in a row hosting and collaborating on this event! 🌟 it was so great to see everyone and the vibes were so fun and awesome as per usual ❤️

Our donations broken down accordingly:

🧤 60 handmade pieces donated by our awesome community members!! (the most we have ever recieved!)

🎟️ $250 — partial proceeds of tickets donated to BAM by Cleo’s

🧣 $855 — donated to BAM from 23 auction purchases!

💰Totaling to $1,105 donated to @bushwickayudamutua <3

❄️ 37 remaining handmade pieces donated to BAM for a special winter wear distribution event for the Bushwick community

It’s incredible to see everyone show up in all the different ways to make this all possible. Our donations directly impact our community and neighbors, bringing essential goods, special gatherings, and safe spaces and trainings on how to keep each other safe in the face of ICE. I hope this event can also serve as reminder of how much support and people power we all have together and how we can show up for each other <3

BAM is always looking for volunteers! their next onboarding is next monday 1/26! Follow the link in our bio to be in the loop and volunteer !!

Happy 1 year anniversary to the Magic Circle 🧶💫
•
Exactly one year ago, our first knitting + crochet circle meetup took place at a coffee shop @nook_bklyn, organized and hosted by @rosie.makesthings. The excitement and joy that the circle organically generated turned our crafting meetups into a weekly event. Every week as we met, the circle grew and grew, and a sweet community began to form 🧚🏽‍♀️🤲🏽🧡
•
Throughout this year, we have shared fiber arts resources, taught each other new tricks, prevented crafting hiatuses, and most importantly, made beautiful friendships 💗🧶
•
As a fiber arts collective, we organized a Winter Collection, selling 40+ handmade knits by members at 3 different pop-ups, with proceeds going to @swopbrooklyn. 💟
•
It’s the incredible people and artists behind the collaboration, love, and work that brings you today’s Bushwick Fiber Arts Collective, Magic Circle <3 Thank you to our members who make the circle the warm home it has become 🏠💞
•
Incredible thanks to our neighbors and collaborators who have been invaluable in providing space, support, and hype for us: @nook_bklyn, @cleosyarnshop, @miss_lulu_tattoo and @kcbcbeer ✨
•
Cheers to our incredible first year and to more stitching and friendship 💖

Row knit a comfy mustard yellow scarf that’s perfect for the fall and winter. 🧡🧶

She was inspired by the graffiti around Bushwick and used it as the backdrop to showcase her scarf. 🎨

This piece will be available at the fast approaching Winter Collection. ❄️
