The Wanderers of Colour Climbing Festival would not have been possible without the generous support of our sponsors, partners, suppliers and contributors.

Rab showed up with a generous donation that pushed the event from concept to reality and they didn’t stop there. From co-leading the Saturday hike and providing films on movie night, to renting backpacks, providing raffle prizes and camping mugs for morning coffees.

Thank you for your helping us bring the 2026 festival to life!

The summer is drawing to a close, and we really packed it all in! What started as a small idea ~18 months ago had grown into an amazing community of women, trans and non-binary folk stoked on riding bikes, building skills, and coming together in the outdoors. And that all culminated in a magical weekend at our End of Season Camp Out, beautifully captured here by @roxannagbaz 🫶

A massive thanks to everyone who brought their energy, laughter and support to the Afan Forest last weekend 🌲 We rode, tie-dyed, saunaed, dipped, ate homecooked food and connected over campfires under starry skies ✨ Tell us your favourite memory from the trip!

When friendships are formed from an idea of adventure.

I first met Emily two years ago when she had a plan; to canoe across the Isle of Lewis. The expedition was filmed by @roxannagbaz and toured a number of adventure film festivals & won a number of categories. The film is titled Capsized.

Fast forward to present; Emily & I shared the waters of the Hebrides once again when she joined us on our recent Hebridean Adventure. It was great to be back paddling with her 🙂

Paddling bringing people together, and friendships forming resulting in many more paddling trips 💛

In early August this year, nearly 150 people of colour came together in the Peak District to celebrate our presence in climbing. From Molly Thompson-Smith, the first climber of colour to represent Great Britain in the Olympics, to competition climber Zoë Peetermans and the legendary Ashima Shiraishi, through to Trevor Massiah, who has been instructing since before any of them were born, this truly intergenerational event saw climbers aged 18 to 66 share meals, gear, the crag, stories, and a newfound sense of belonging.

SATURDAY 🙌

From a hike through the area surrounding Thornbridge Outdoors led by @peak_district_mosaic through to learning to lead on the gritstone outcrop of Stanage, our festival family could choose from a range of options to immerse themselves in the Peak.

The day was rounded off with a sundown conversation between some of the festival’s attendees, community organiser from 🇺🇸 @tiffbfirst, instructor Trevor Massiah of @rockandsun1 and pro climber @peetermanss hosted by @abovelandandsea, an instructor and member of the incredible team behind the festival 🥳❤️

The incredible @rab.equipment.uk are returning as sponsors of the Wanderers of Colour Climbing Festival 2026. 🖤

Rab first came into our world at the 2024 festival — Europe’s first ever climbing festival by and for Black people and people of colour — and since then they have shown up for us again and again. Ski trips. Hiking weekends. A winter skills weekend in Scotland. They have been there.

In a world where brands talk a lot about diversity and inclusion, finding one that actually backs a community like ours — consistently, generously, and without being asked twice — is rare. We don’t take it lightly.

Thank you, Rab. For believing in what we’re building, and for being the kind of company that puts its support where its values are. We are so proud to have you with us in 2026. 🏔️

4 years of @climboutfest continuing to make history as the UK’s first queer climbing festival. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️✨

Looking back at moments from 2025 + 2026, I’m reminded about how special these weekends are.

And it’s been so lovely to be part of the organising team. Last year, I also had the chance to sit on a panel and talk about all things Wanderers of Colour! I always love sharing our journey, stories of our community, and breaking down the barriers to being in the outdoors.

One of my favourite parts was defo seeing so many Wanderers there. Every year, our BPOC crew grows a little bigger, and it’s amazing to witness our community taking up space, and supporting one another.

Here’s to many more years to come! 🫶🏿🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️
