@Unity_in_Color + @MellyBellyMamas came together to screen @NoCountryforMothers, and the most powerful part was the conversation that followed.

We heard from a postpartum social worker, a doula and single mother, a mother raising a child with a disability, and someone without children who shared how the film is helping her see her own mother in a new light.

Different experiences, one shared truth: the well-being of mothers affects all of us.

Grateful to @MomsFirstus for creating this film and giving us a spark to keep the conversation going — and to everyone who showed up, listened, and shared. We hope this is just the beginning ❤️

3️⃣4️⃣ taught me the most important relationship I’ll ever have is the one with myself. I’ve let go of so much anxiety by learning to live one day at a time instead of worrying about what’s next. This moment, right now, is the youngest we’ll ever be, and that perspective has brought me SO much gratitude. 🎈

I’m grateful for clarity, stability, my career growth, my charisma, and the unwavering self-respect I’ve built over the years. I know my worth, and I’m proud of the person I continue to become. I am TRULY one of one. 💫

Most of all, I’m thankful for my TRIBE who choose to ride this roller coaster of life with me—the ones who show up, support me, and share in the journey. Thank you all for the birthday wishes, the love, and the kindness. Bussy appreciates every single one of you!!! 💋♥️

Thursday night I participated in an event that celebrated Black creativity and watched people stop, look, and connect with a painting that came from one of the hardest, most transformative seasons of my life.#

Unfixed was never shown before Tones & Texture. It held grief and hope in the same breath — and sharing it for the first time, in a room built for artists and creators who look like me, felt like everything clicking into place.

Dentist by day. Artist always. Grateful doesn’t even begin to cover it. 🎨✨🙏🏾 #BlackArtists #ArtByRush #CurlFest2026 #blackcreativity DentistByDayArtistAlways AbstractArt NYCArtist ArtistJourney BlackWomenInArt ContemporaryArt
