POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I’ll get around to posting some actual snow fun soon but for now, here are some of the beauts I met.

Group adventures are only as good as the folks you’re with and I think we got pretty lucky 👌

Us humans, we’re built on human connection and it’s all too easy to stay in one circle.

We can things like “I just don’t like people” but in reality that’s never true. We’re just not mingling with the right bods or simply not “open” enough to receive different opinions, backgrounds and ways of life.

Meeting new people shows you new perspectives. Broadens horizons. Helps you see the world through different lenses - ultimately making life better.

This trip was as much about the people (and a few animals 😉) as it was about the actual Arctic “stuff”.

First Impressions from the Fjällräven Polar ❄️⛺️
@fjallravenofficial

The first few days out here have already been some of the most intense and rewarding I’ve ever experienced. I don’t think I’ve ever learned as much in such a short time. From workshops and new skills to facing daily challenges.

I never imagined I could stand on the sled runners for hours, guiding a team of huskies through the Arctic. And now? I’m doing it.

Each day is filled with new hurdles, but also with growth. Individually and as a group. You can feel how we’re slowly becoming a real team, helping and supporting each other every step of the way.

And then there’s the stillness. The kind of calm that only comes when you live outside, surrounded by snow, silence, and stars. There’s something incredibly grounding about the daily rhythm here. You’re focused on what truly matters: the dogs, the group, staying warm, staying present.

I think I’ve rarely been this happy, this deeply connected to nature, and to myself.

It was some of the hardest things I've ever done this week at #fjallravenpolar2025 with @fjallravenofficial, but also some of the most rewarding and incredible experiences! Here's a quick sample of a few moments from the adventure. More to share soon, too... I'm not even back home yet, just really wanted to share a few glimpses.

Johan Turi - Turi's #Book of #Lappland
I've mentioned this book before, but have to again, as it is so essential to anyone who loves #sápmi . It's not an #ethnographic book, nor is it fiction, but a deeply personal tale of life as a Saami at the turn of the century.I think it's impossible NOT to fall in #love ❤️with the #beautiful barren wild #landscape and #nature after reading it, and get inspired to get #outdoors. It also tells of #Saami history (biased though!) that should make anyone think about the inustices done to #indigineous peoples around the 🌍
I like how the book is personal and tells of the people, as the #friends up there are the thing that makes me want to go back more and make the book come alive for me. As I read it,I hear it through their voice (even if they're not Sami in the strict definition).
"When a Sami gets into a room his brains go round, they’re no good unless the wind’s blowing in his nose. He can’t think quickly between four walls. But when he is out on the high fells, then his brain is quite clear."
"It is certainly hard to #travel over the high fells in a #snowstorm ...and up there it is always #cold ❄ even in good weather"

We met at @fjallravenofficial Polar and hiked the Classic as friends.

My tip to all applicants who didn’t win one of the 20 spots at Polar this year. Go out, have fun with friends and take the chance to hike one of the classic hikes next year.

Part of the Fjällräven Polar Team of 2023 used the 20th anniversary of Fjällräven Classic Sweden for a reunion.
Nothing bothers us. If you can do the Fjällräven Polar, you won’t be bothered by rain.
