"By removing the roof, ornament, and symbolism, only the act of ascending remains."

— Anon Pairot, in conversation with curator Maria Cristina Didero

Introducing Anon Pairot (Thailand) and Stairism.

About Anon:
In the landscape of contemporary design and art in Southeast Asia, Anon Pairot has emerged as a rare figure who bridges industrial design, cultural philosophy, and contemporary art practice. Over a career spanning more than two decades, Pairot has developed a body of work that questions one of the most fundamental human behaviors: how we assign value to objects. This inquiry what he calls "The Valuation of Objects" has become the conceptual backbone of his practice.

Swipe for the work and the conversation with Maria.

A battle of ideas, confidence and courage took centre stage at the Grand Finale of the Raja Muda Selangor Debating Championship 2026! 🎙️🏆

The championship culminated in an exciting final round between SM Sains Kuala Selangor and Hin Hua High School, bringing together some of the competition’s top-performing young debaters.

Throughout the finale, both teams demonstrated impressive critical thinking, confidence and composure as they challenged perspectives, defended their arguments and made their voices heard before the panel of judges.

The event was further honoured by the presence of DYTM Tengku Amir Shah, Raja Muda Selangor, who witnessed the talent and potential of these young debaters firsthand. His Highness also graciously presented the prizes and delivered the closing remarks.

Congratulations to SM Sains Kuala Selangor for emerging as Champion and taking home a cash prize of RM8,000 and 3 Ipads! The Grand Finale also celebrated outstanding individual achievements, recognising the Top 10 Best Speakers, Overall Best Speaker and Final’s Best Speaker.

The Grand Finale was organised by Majlis Sukan Negeri Selangor (MSNS) through the Selangor State Executive Council Office for Youth, Sports and Entrepreneurship, with Selangor Youth Community (SAY) as co-organiser.

More than a competition, the Raja Muda Selangor Debating Championship 2026 provides a platform for young people to think critically, speak with confidence and engage with different perspectives leading qualities that will shape them into the leaders of tomorrow.

Meet the curator of New Asian Narratives, Maria Cristina Didero.

"We conceived New Asian Narratives less as an exhibition than as a proposition."

Swipe to read from her curatorial text for the exhibition.

"What EMERGE - New Asian Narratives proposes, in response to this scenario of brilliant diversity, is some sort of parallel grammar, a different set of terms by which design might be read, valued, and understood."

Both love cars. Both keep saying, “Just one more!”

At this point, I’m not living in a house… I’m living in a car, Lego & airplane showroom with two big boys! 😅
