From 11 weeks to 11 beautiful years.

I wanted to wait until I had a house one day to get a big dog. But we ended up picking you up from a farm in Palmdale once upon an October’s day in 2015 and brought you home. We watched you take your first wobbly steps and grow into your floppy ears. We taught you tricks & traveled with you everywhere. One day, “we” became just me. And you were all mine 💛 you witnessed my heart break and I’m sure yours did too, but you still licked every tear and helped me get out of bed every single morning. You were the reason. You taught me the safest love. You taught me that I was always enough and that I was all you ever needed. I got to share you on your last year with family. My sister’s family took you in and suddenly you were a family dog. A big change from our LA studio apartment where it was just you and me. In the end, you experienced the life I always wanted to give you: a full happy family complete with a big house and big back yard. You were surrounded by family. I held you until your very last breath giving you kisses and telling you I love you as many times as I could until you crossed the rainbow bridge. Keep Dad company up there, okay? Thank you for being by my side for all of my biggest moments. I love you forever.

Final Masonic Rite at Dad's casket before he was entombed at Forest Lake Cemetery on beautiful Thursday morning, July 28.

They paid tribute by memorizing very long speeches and placed leaves of the Acacia Tree on his casket. The Masons also gave Mom an Obituary Scroll and a plaque during the ceremonial rite.

Some of the Masons burst out crying when they played Dad's last recorded song, "This Is The Moment."

Sitting in front of Dad, with all the Masons paying tribute to him and giving speeches, almost felt like we were royalty.

Thank you @ronnielalas for everything. For welcoming me into your family. For raising my wife to be the wonderful woman she is. You are so loved by so many people. We saw that with the literal hundreds of people constantly trying to see you as the news came out that you were sick. You took care of your family, you took care of your friends, you put everybody before yourself always. And it didn’t take long to see that being here with you in the Philippines. You’d have happily given the shirt off your back to a friend in need or even a stranger. Because of the man you were, I know you’ll be able to rest peacefully now in heaven. Our daughter Veronica will know you. I promise you that. We love you, we miss you, thank you. 🙏🕊
