Fix Your Posture Wish you could sit with good posture? Well stop wishing because it's impossible to do for any length of time.⁣ ⁣ In a research study with Olympic athletes, even they slouched in less than 15 minutes of sitting.⁣ ⁣ But we can use passive support to prop ourselves up into a good position. Here's how:⁣ ⁣ Option 1- use a McKenzie lumbar roll. Slide your bottom all the way back in the chair, lean forward, and place the roll in the small of your low back. Now sit back, and feel how much taller you are.⁣ ⁣ Option 2 (cheapest)- use a paper towel roll. Follow the same steps as with the roll. Tape for durability.⁣ ⁣ The McKenzie roll comes in different levels of firmness for different body sizes and flexibility. The paper towel roll can be adjusted by removing paper towels to find the ideal size.⁣ ⁣ Start sitting with low back support today! I’ll be honest, the last few weeks have been 𝙃𝘼𝙍𝘿 😤⁣ ⁣ Moving to a new city, finding an apartment, starting a new job & then the world stops just to top it off 😅⁣ ⁣ I am by no means complaining, I am blessed beyond measure. But I want to be open & honest about my struggles bc I feel like not enough of that is seen on social media 🙅🏼‍♀️⁣ ⁣ 𝘞𝘦 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘴𝘦𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘩𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘭 𝘰𝘧 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦’𝘴 𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘴 🌟⁣ ⁣ If you know me, then you know how much it’s killing me to not be out there meeting people & making new friends 🥺⁣ ⁣ 𝘽𝙪𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙩𝙤𝙤 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙥𝙖𝙨𝙨. ⁣ ⁣ I have been forced to be introspective. ⁣ To spend more time alone. ⁣ Accepting the uncertainty. ⁣ Leaning into the unknown. ⁣ ⁣ I’m thankful for knowing at least one friend here (@cmrnwlf 😁), having the support of my bf, my friends/family & for my new fam at GRNH making me feel more at home 💚💜⁣ ⁣ What are you struggling with lately? ⁣ How can I help? 👇🏻

There is no doubt that things have changed, and during these times we may be faced with old challenges in a new way. Low backs may be achy, hips may be tight and necks may be stiff beyond belief. When some of you may typically go for a massage or a chiropractic adjustment for relief, those options just don't exist at the present moment. So what can you do? What is your option during this unprecedented time? Move! And not just randomly, but move the right way, move often, and move with intent. With our telehealth services at @movementpaindocs we are able to assess, diagnose, and treat utilizing an online video call and movement assessment. Check out our most recent blog post at www.movementpaindocs.com to learn more about what we do and how we can improve your life. #movementpaindocs #movementismedicine

Today it is one of the most widely used forms of assessment and treatment for neck, back, and extremity pain. If you are in pain and interested in getting an assessment you can schedule an appointment online at our website or message us on Instagram or Facebook. 🌬 Bundle Up Folks Temperatures have been lower and snow has been falling in the Midwest so make sure to bundle up this week! Even though temperatures are lower, don’t be afraid to get outside and move. Just make sure to not shrug your shoulders, regulate your breathing (not too shallow and not too deep), and stay moving to increase your blood flow to keep yourself nice and toasty! A wise man once said, “There is no such thing as bad weather, only bad gear.” Enjoy your day! #movementpaindocs #movementismedicine

❌Ankle Sprains Part 3❌ In this video, @dr.rob.flannigan is demonstrating an exercise known as “the clock.” This exercise incorporates balance, stability, and proprioception to rehabilitate the injured ankle and foot. Balance and proprioception exercises are 🔑 to help establish more awareness and control of the injured area. Research shows this dynamic balancing exercise has been shown to help stabilize the ankle and prevent future injuries and sprains. So even if you don’t have an injured ankle, it’s a good idea to perform this exercise to promote balance and awareness of the ankle and foot. Perform this exercise barefoot 2-3x a day for 10 reps each leg to help stabilize those broken shakey ankles. #movementpaindocs #movementismedicine
