Day One on the seminar stage! ➡️ Included with every ticket. Seats fill fast for our seminars every year, so get there early. Bangkok Bar Show 📍 Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel 🗓️ 24th - 25th Oct 2026 🎟 Tickets in bio #BangkokBarShow #BKKBarShow #ChaiYoBKK SAKE 101: FROM SHAPE TO SENSATION The glass you pour sake into changes what you taste. Teru from @thesakeroom walks you through it, shape by shape. APERITIVO HOUR In Italy, aperitivo is a time of day and a way of eating, not a single drink. Patty Pitchaya asks Elon Soddu, Palm Supawit and Benjamin Cavagna what the habit becomes when it is built around our own food and our own ways of drinking before dinner. SO YOU WANNA OWN A BAR? Most people behind a bar have thought about owning one. Christine Sismondo sits down with Shelley Tai, Gento Torigata and Joash Conceicao, some who made the jump and some who chose not to, to talk about what it really takes. AI AT THE BAR Small bars run without some key roles, and AI has quietly picked up a lot of that work. Rachel Tann, Marc Braydon, Niks Anuman and Shen get into what it has genuinely fixed and where it goes too far.

Team Indonesia Leveling Up! 🇮🇩 It’s been an honor and a privilege to attend this year’s Asia’s 50 Best Bars ceremony at @wynn.palace, celebrating the people and bars shaping Asia’s incredible drinks industry. Each year, the region continues to evolve, diversify, and raise the bar, and it’s been especially rewarding to see Indonesia growing alongside it. Another year with four bars in the Asia’s 50 Best list, plus two more in the extended rankings, is a milestone worth celebrating. We’re edging closer to that coveted Top 10 finish, and while there’s always room to improve, this is undoubtedly a win for the country. More importantly, I hope this inspires even more Indonesian bars to dream bigger, push further, and believe that regional recognition is within reach. Being surrounded by so many talented people this week was a reminder that with enough passion and perseverance, anything is possible. [COA | Shanghai] If I had to name one of Shanghai’s defining bars today, COA Shanghai would be at the top of the list. Founded in Hong Kong by Jay Khan in 2017, COA has become one of Asia’s most celebrated bars, introducing tequila, mezcal and the broader world of Mexican agave spirits to a new generation of drinkers. When I interviewed Jay at last year’s Asia’s 50 Best Bars Awards, what impressed me most was that COA wasn’t created to follow a trend. Inspired by his travels through Mexico and its agave culture, he spent years developing the concept before finally opening the bar. Shanghai became COA’s first international destination. Rather than recreating the Hong Kong original, Jay describes it as “the evolution of COA.” Housed in a four-story building, COA Shanghai is divided into Taqueria, Cantina, Salon, and Mezcalería, each offering its own atmosphere, music, cocktails, and food. It feels less like visiting a single bar and more like exploring four different concepts under one roof. I spent the evening at Salon, enjoying signature cocktails while comparing tequila and other agave spirits recommended by the bartender. It was easy to understand why COA is regarded as one of the world’s finest agave bars. @jaykhan313 @coashanghai @coahongkong @50bestbars #p2b_bar #p2b_shanghai #p2b_coa

[Bar Leone | Shanghai] If I had to name the world’s best bar today, it would undoubtedly be Bar Leone. Opened in Hong Kong by Lorenzo Antinori in 2023, the Italian cocktail bar was crowned No.1 at The World’s 50 Best Bars last year. What makes Bar Leone special is its philosophy of “Cocktail Popolari” — approachable classics, warm hospitality, and the spirit of a neighborhood bar rather than flashy performances. Lorenzo’s goal is simply to create a place people want to return to again and again. Opened last year, Bar Leone Shanghai is located in Sinan Mansions, surrounded by historic villas from Shanghai’s former French Concession. The setting feels perfectly suited to the bar’s character. The highlights were the Shanghai-exclusive Mayor of Manhattan and Matador, alongside signatures such as the Filthy Martini and Olive Oil Sour. Each showed the polish expected from the world’s best bar. More than the title itself, what defines Bar Leone is Lorenzo’s desire to create a place people genuinely want to come back to. That philosophy remains unchanged in Shanghai. @lorenzoantinori_ @j.chinois @barleonesh @barleonehk @50bestbars #p2b_bar #p2b_shanghai #p2b_barleone

Business Behind Bars. People think running a bar is about making great cocktails. It isn’t. It’s about building a team. Over the years, I’ve realised I don’t believe in the idea that a business should operate like a family. A great team is built on trust, accountability, respect and a shared vision. Every person brings different strengths, weaknesses and personalities. My role is to understand each individual, help them grow, and put them in positions where they can succeed. Leadership isn’t just about teaching someone how to make a cocktail. It’s about building confidence, discipline and consistency. I’m still learning how to be a better boss every day. Cocktails can earn you awards. But it’s the people behind the bar who uphold the standards, welcome every guest, and keep the business alive. Great drinks get you noticed. Great teams build great bars ❤️
