POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Before the book, there was the fieldwork. 🌎

Meet Jan Schulz, the social anthropologist and journalist behind Disputed Territories.
Across Ecuador, Peru, and Colombia, Jan spent time listening to Indigenous leaders, activists, lawyers, and community members living at the center of conflicts over land, extraction, and environmental protection.
His new book brings those encounters into a much bigger conversation about Rights of Nature, and what legal recognition can mean for the people defending their territories.

This week, we’re introducing the author behind the reporting as we continue our journey through Disputed Territories.

WOULD YOU DRINK THIS? 🧃

The reality of the planetary crisis can be hard to swallow. So we packaged some uncomfortable truths like your favorite wellness products.

At the Toxic Positivity Juice Bar, meet Forever Formula, Vita Minimizer and Protox Water, juices inspired by the plastics, chemicals, biodiversity loss and pollution putting pressure on our planet.

They may look like wellness trends. The ingredients are anything but.

And yes, there’s something you can actually drink. Fresh organic cold-pressed juice from our friends at @omjuicenyc.

This Monday and Tuesday, come swallow some uncomfortable truths at the Planetary Health Club.

NEW YORK, CAN YOU TAKE THE HEAT? 🔥

We asked New Yorkers how they handled the hottest days of summer. Now, as summer comes to an end, we’re bringing the heat back.

This Monday, step inside the Sauna of Truth at the Planetary Health Club and experience 60 seconds at the temperature of New York’s hottest day.

Because extreme heat isn’t just something we feel. It affects our health, our cities, and the systems we all depend on.

🌊✨ What an incredible evening celebrating female leaders in marine conservation and exploration at our fourth edition event! We were honored to host a panel of inspiring "Sheroes" who shared their stories and insights into ocean conservation. The evening continued with captivating ocean films screened in collaboration with the Ocean Film Festival.

Our diverse panel highlighted women from South Florida making waves in marine science:

🌊Lisa Beal
🌊Karlisa Callwood
🌊Anya Freeman @kinddesignsofficial
🌊Deborah Mitchell @debmitchellart
🌊Cyan Simmons @cyan.renae
🌊Moderated by Ombretta Agró Andruff @ombrainbow

During the cocktail reception, guests enjoyed "Weaving with Water," a magical performance by Dale Andree of NWD Projects @nwd_projects featuring Mary Spring, Sunyoung Pak, Barbie Freeman, TJ Anderson, Natalie Rodrigues, Ray Robinson, and Pedro Ortiz, with props by Jenny Llewellyn Jones.

Photographic sculptures from Deborah Mitchell's @debmitchellart "Within the Tapestry" project and quilts from the "Weaving with Water" series were also on display, inspired by Florida's natural marvels and historical references.
