Delivering unified, bespoke training design to the most driven athletes in the world.

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Real, progressive training. Simply designed, ruthlessly executed.

Everyone wants to rush their way to the highest outputs without actually doing the work to get there. Compounding gains don’t come overnight.

“Before stepping into the ring, Cus D’Amato would repeat to Mike Tyson that you don’t exist, only the task exists. The moment you internalize what this really means, all self-doubt simply ceases to exist, because there’s no longer a self to doubt.
What’s left is total immersion in the task, which is what the flow state actually is, where there’s no “you” left to interfere, and action arises by itself, like second nature, faster than conscious thought, through the sheer genius of your unconscious mind.”

Everything is downstream of creating discrete, progressive, and interesting problems to solve.

Doing general mobility work is a good idea, but it will never come anywhere close to the potency of actually starting yourself in challenging positions in your throwing work.

Theres lot of guys that have great mobility that can’t throw to save their life, and guys who chuck fuel who can’t move outside of the throw.

The reason your pitching coach blames you sucking on your “bad mobility” is because he’s lazy and doesn’t know how to critically problem solve. Tough pill to swallow.

Another high day lift. Focus is on getting as strong as possible. Using the whole body in tons of different ranges while not forgetting to be an athlete.

Every second counts. Getting the most out of our prep on recovery days by accumulating plyometric contacts, building aerobic capacity, and challenging ourselves coordinatively.

Starting the offseason from a more variable, more randomized array of initial task constraints is always the move because it gives you somewhere to go.

There are inherently more ways to throw 65 than to throw 100. Because intensity will always be the largest driver of specificity, the goal should be to drive as much dexterity at the intensity bandwidth we’re at on our offseason progression.

Just because the throwing isn’t as intense, doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be challenging.

The reason why the majority of weight room training has gotten so convoluted is because most athletes skill and general plyometric/ballistic work is so poorly programmed and progressed.

Use your coordinative training where it matters, use the weight room to build architecture. No one’s paying you to get good at lifting weights.

“Creative players aren’t simply born creative. Creative behaviours can emerge when players regularly interact with environments that encourage exploration.” - @mr_tennis_coach

Grateful to get to watch these guys chase the horizon every single day.

Intent isn’t real, only the task is real.

You think you just fell out of a coconut tree?

The kinematics of the throw are simply shadows on the cave wall, second order derivatives of the organization of movement solutions that actually move the needle.

Traditional biomechanical points of interest look at isolated snapshots like pelvis angle at foot plant, whereas nonlinear measures such as sample and spectral entropy describe the shape and organization of the whole movement over time.

Sample entropy tells us how predictable or repeatable the movement pattern is over time, and spectral entropy tells us how spread out or complex the energy is across different frequencies.

All that matters is that the movement solution space converges on stable patterns for task success. More than meets the eye.
