I rarely do wedding flowers, I’m a one woman show. But my sister’s wedding may have been my favorite ever.

Edinburgh holds a special place in my heart. I spent six months there during my senior year of college, trying to figure out my future. My parents had been called to serve as mission leaders, and the three of us arrived together in the summer of 1987. During those six months, I traveled all over Scotland with them, growing fond of the heather, the sound of bagpipes, the Scottish accent, tartan plaid, the art and architecture—and even the rain. Most of all, I fell in love with the people.

Toward the end of that time, clarity came and I realized I wanted to marry Jeff. He came over for Christmas, and on Christmas Eve, we got engaged at Edinburgh Castle.

We hadn’t been back to that special city in 38 years. So, after an extended family trip to Scandinavia, Jeff and I took my dad back to Edinburgh. We attended church in our old ward and were amazed to find a few familiar faces—we were able to reconnect with friends from decades ago. It was especially meaningful for my dad to see one of the missionaries who had served under him. We also visited the mission home where he had lived for two years, a place full of memories and nostalgia.

Even at 93, my dad walked the full length of the Royal Mile. And Jeff surprised me with a reenacted proposal at the very spot where he first asked me to marry him. It was the perfect culmination to a beautiful trip—and we were thrilled to share it with Ruby and Charlie.

I can’t tell you how it warms my heart to see so many people lining up to buy original art. What a beautiful night of collectors finding the perfect piece of art that speaks to their soul and of artists seeing the fruits of their long hours of hard work.

Thank you so much for supporting our local art scene. A huge thank you to my Utah Art Market family who shows up year after year. It takes a village and I’m so grateful for mine! There are not enough words to adequately express the gratitude I have for this program and the people in it 🤍
I couldn’t ask for better professors than Mat and Jamin. They are simply the greatest people you will ever meet. It was a privilege to spend so much time with them and their families this semester.
I have a whole lot of love in my heart for the friends that became family over such a short period of time. Truly feeling so lucky!!
London is a city of life and love and so many good things. I can’t wait to come back one day 🤍
