POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

THE ARTS BUILD PERSEVERANCE.

The first attempt isn’t always the final product.

A difficult passage takes practice. A painting may need another layer. A scene may need another rehearsal. A choreography may take countless repetitions.

The arts teach students that growth takes time and that mistakes are part of learning.

Practice. Revise. Try again. Grow.

Those lessons last long after the class ends.

“To be in your children’s memories tomorrow, you have to be in their lives today.” — Barbara Johnson

Had a great time today at our kids Jog a Thon event for @ruby_drive_elementary ! Our goal was to raise $30,000. Our total today was over 37k which means we exceeded our goal!

Special thank you to the teachers, staff, volunteers, parents, for putting this all together and making it a success!

Great seeing Ruby our mascot taking pictures, giving high fives to all the runners as they passed.

🎨 VAPA Spotlight: Ruby Drive Elementary!

Our artists at Ruby Drive Elementary were busy creating with Mrs. Masone as they explored the power of storytelling through collage!

For this lesson, students studied the work of Romare Bearden, an American artist known for using collage to tell stories about people, places, memories, and everyday life.
Inspired by Bearden’s work, Mrs. Masone guided students through an exploration of shape, color, layering, texture, and composition and how those elements can come together to communicate an idea and create a visual story.

One of the things I love about our visual arts program is that students aren’t simply recreating an artist’s work. They learn about an artist, explore techniques and artistic concepts, and then use that inspiration to make their own creative choices. As students cut, arrange, layer, and revise their compositions, they are also problem-solving, experimenting, taking creative risks, and finding their own artistic voice.

Thank you, Mrs. Masone, for creating opportunities for our students to explore, imagine, and express themselves through visual art! 🎨✂️✨

Always a privilege seeing our daughter doing what she loves which is performing on stage! They were performing A walkthrough California history!

Our Daughter played James Marshall who was a carpenter and saw operator and was the impetus in the gold rush in the 1800’s when he accidentally discovered flakes which turned out to be gold!

All of the kids did well. Papa and Mama are proud 🥹 of you!
