This job has taken me across the UK, Europe and beyond, photographing weddings in some incredible places, but what I’m always looking for is the same thing: photographs that feel like you.

The energy of the day, the people you love, the clothes, the movement, the fleeting moments you didn’t even realise were happening. I want the images to feel considered and beautiful, but never at the expense of what was real.

To have that recognised internationally feels very special.

I’ve been so excited to share with you a glimpse inside @charstarr99 + @mjscholes deeply personal copy of LIFE they received a few weeks ago - in perfect time to celebrate their first wedding anniversary yesterday.

The anniversary of paper could hardly feel more fitting.

Charlotte’s gowns, created by @emmavictoriapaynebridal held an extraordinary story of family, heritage and the remarkable connections that ultimately brought Charlotte and Mike together.

Every detail carried meaning: Virginia dogwood flowers for Charlotte’s hometown; ribbons recalling her childhood love of hair bows; elements inspired by her late grandmother’s wedding dress; swans honouring Mike’s Lindsay ancestry; St Michael’s Church, where they exchanged their vows; and a tiny dachshund hidden amongst the ivy for Charlotte’s beloved Tiger.

Charlotte and Mike’s bespoke monogram completed the story, embroidered into the train of her dramatic veil.

Within LIFE, these details live alongside the perfectly curated collection of photographs, speeches, embroidery, stationery and bespoke endpapers - preserving not simply how their wedding looked, but how it felt and everything that mattered most.

We have absolutely loved working with Charlotte + Mike and feel so privileged to have played a part in preserving this beautiful chapter of their story together.

Wishing you both so much love as you celebrate your first anniversary and many more wonderful chapters still to come.

A couple of photos from a wedding this week at Cliveden House and a reminder of what a privilege it is to work at such an iconic venue.

Cliveden provides an incredible setting for a wedding, from the grand architecture to the beautifully maintained grounds.

These two stylish grooms planned a truly beautiful day, making the most of everything the venue has to offer.

It was a pleasure to document their celebration and work alongside a fantastic team of suppliers in such a prestigious location.

A wonderful day, a stunning setting, and a great example of why Cliveden remains one of the UK’s most sought-after wedding venues.

There’s a magical moment before everything begins.

@charstarr99 mid-descent, veil floating softly behind her…her dress waiting just above… everything quietly holding its breath before the day unfolds.

This is why LIFE exists.
Because what you’re seeing here is beautiful… But what you’re not seeing?
That’s where the real story lives.

Charlotte’s dress wasn’t just something she wore. It was something she created… piece by piece, meaning by meaning with the incredibly talented @emmavictoriapaynebridal

And the story?…

She and @mjscholes discovered that their families were unknowingly connected over a century ago - her great-grandfather leaving Lisburn (just outside Michael’s hometown of Belfast) to start a new life in America. A connection that makes their story feel all the more fated.

Their wedding wasn’t about adding details for the sake of it…
It was about honouring where they came from.

Her dress became a place to hold all of that.

A tiny embroidered church - the very place they would say their vows.
Swans stitched into the design, a nod to Michael’s family heritage. A hidden dachshund motif, so her beloved dog could be there in spirit. Elements inspired by her late grandmother’s wedding dress…dogwood flowers, referencing her childhood home in Virginia… Their bespoke monogram woven into her veil.
Every detail intentional.

LIFE holds why it mattered.

This is where those layers come alive.
The sketches. The embroidery inspiration. The meaning behind each tiny decision.
The little stories that would otherwise live in your head… or get lost over time.
 LIFE is a piece of art. A time capsule. A legacy.

Charlotte described her gowns as more than just dresses - but family heirlooms she will cherish for a lifetime, and hopes to pass on to her own child one day.

And that’s the heart of LIFE.
Creating something that lasts far beyond the day itself.

A little look back at @charstarr99 & @mjscholes incredibly special and beautifully quintessentially English wedding at @clivedenhouse last summer.

The golden light, the laughter drifting across the gardens, the colour, the elegance… and above all, the most joyous feeling of two wonderful families coming together.
