Just a few romances for sweater weather. They’re full of apple cinnamon, pumpkin spice, and fuzzy socks feelings.

🩷☀️ Happy Sunday! ☀️🩵

I found the cutest little English book section in a Spanish book shop and obviously I couldn’t leave empty handed 🤭

I’ve heard so many good things about Just for the Summer and Problematic Summer Romance… and Clean Breaks caught my eye too 🧡

Now I just need to decide which one gets picked up first by the pool ☀️

Which one would you start with? 👀

This is the book you should be reading right now!! It’s magical, it’s comforting, it’s beautiful! @rubyopalmindy is on Day Drinking and we’re having a sparkling hibiscus thing and we’re talking about pen names and longevity in this difficult business and magic. And witches. Listen wherever you get your podcasts!

Once in a while, I discover a book that is so unexpectedly targeted right at me, I can't help but make it my new favorite.

The Glowing Life of Leeann Wu
by Mindy Hung

First, I picked this book for the title.

Because it's MY NAME! Do you know how hard it is to find my first name in a book? Let alone in the TITLE? And spelled correctly?! Never happens!

So I decided it would be the perfect read for my birthday month!

I was not disappointed!

This main character who shares my name is late in life, like me, struggling to find a balance between being a mother (and a daughter), career, and personal life.

The plot is centered on finding yourself, even when everything is falling apart. A reminder that it's never ever too late to be who you were meant to be.

This is magical realism with one foot in scifi, and I could not be more impressed with the writing. I was all-in from page one.

And ultimately, the hopeful message here is one we all need, powers or not. Reach out to your community, heal where you can, and get some rest.

"In the end, you didn't forget who you were. But I found out there was more history, more power to me than I imagined."

This novel is glorious. A must-read.

QOTD: Have you read a book with a character who shares your name?
