What a night.

On Tuesday, we (@siga___studios) screened two films we made for @theoutrunners at the legendary @riocinema.

The films were made for (and partly in collaboration with) the incredible cohort of young runners at the charity, so it was a dream to experience them watching themselves on the big screen alongside their friends and families. It was also an inspiration seeing how effortlessly they all spoke on the panel in front of 350 people.

The idea for these films stemmed from a chat I had with @tylerwilliamsgreen 2+ years ago, and after some 8 months of hard work this year, @rubyseresin and I were able to bring it to life. Never did I imagine we’d have a sold out screening for our first doc when we started Siga at the beginning of this year. Couldn’t feel prouder.

Thanks @tylerwilliamsgreen for making a big deal out of it, thanks to all the @theoutrunners team for enabling it, and thanks @georgekerryy for funding it.

The future of London’s runners is bright.

Youth running is the future of running 🚀

We are so proud to share our first youth led content piece which was created with the wonderful @siga___studio

@siga___studios worked with our young people from concept to filming, and the young people styled themselves on shoot day, and their creativity and energy shines through!

We have a longer form documentary on our youth academy dropping later this afternoon 👀

For the past 6 months, we’ve been working on some films for @theoutrunners - a youth charity based in Hackney Wick. The films dive into the heart of two programs they run: the Youth Academy, which trains 16-21 year-olds for their first half or full marathon, and their 13+ weekly community sessions.

Despite the crazy amount of shoot days, lime credit spent tracking their runs and endless hours in the edit suite, it never really felt like work because filming with the kids was so fun and inspiring. We’re grateful for the funding from @nike and feel so lucky for it to have been our first major project as a studio.

Next week we’ll be showing the films at The Rio Cinema in Dalston on Tuesday 13th Oct 6.30-8pm. Tickets are free via the link in bio. Please come down and join us!

I wish you could smell a space through a photo…the smell of freshly cut and oiled birch was bliss and took me right back to visiting a friends summerhouse and sauna by the lake in Finland. This travelling living room is natural, materially honest and fully demountable and reusable, made from walnut, birch, linen, paper and hand brushed aluminium 🪵
