Most people know Khao Sok as a beautiful hidden jungle gem where you can see wild elephants roam, and chill on floating raft houses.

But we wanted to truly find the heart of Khao Sok — and we found this homestay hidden away from the crowds that was born out of a love for family and a desire to share their home and way of life.

This farmstay is tucked away in nature, so it’s peaceful and quiet, with no crowds at all. Plus it’s so beautiful - just look at all this lush greenery!

Here, you’ll cook Thai meals with garden-fresh ingredients, cross a river on a plank (made from an old electric pole!) to reach a hidden monastery cave. You can even choose to venture out to float down the secluded Saphan Nak River on a bamboo boat, or explore the Cheow Lan lake on a scenic long tail boat trip.

Jui and her sisters will make you feel right at home here! We’ve been to many homestays, but this one is really different :)

This little @seeksophie adventure on Cheow Lan Lake in Khao Sok, Thailand honestly just feels a little different. It reminds us so much of Halong Bay, yet it’s so much calmer, much less crowded, and comes with a quiet magic of its own 😌

We’ve been here many times now and stayed at lots of different floating rafthouses. We usually love rustic stays, but if you’re after something a little more comfy, this might be the one for you. It was modern and spacious (yes, even AC and TV!) — perfect if you’re looking for that bit of ease while still waking up in the middle of nature.

What we really recommend though, is a Seek Sophie private guide. Stays usually just come with boat drivers, so there’s little context provided. We’ve been to Khao Sok a few times, and it’s alwayss beauuutiful... but nothing compared to having someone who could spot birds just from their calls, show us hidden caves, and share stories we’d never find on our own. It made us see the lake differently, and fall in love with it all over again.

Didn't know this was even a thing, but I battled 2 weeks of land sickness(??) after staying 3D2N at Cheow Lan Lake, but it was honestly so worth it 🙈

(1-2) Got around exclusively by boat, surrounded by unreal views. I'm talking turquoise waters, towering limestone cliffs, and wildlife everywhere.
(2-4) Explored Coral Cave. Spot the eerie, witch-like shadow cast by one of the formations.
(5-6) Stayed in floating rafthouses and spent our days kayaking.
(7-8) Bamboo raft ride en route to Coral Cave. Pure magic.
(9-10) Hiked the surrounding forest and spotted all kinds of wildlife. Not pictured: bisons, monitor lizards, and birds. Some even saw elephants, but no luck for us this time.

Meet JAJA — the jungle bro you never knew you needed 🌿🐾

🙅🏻‍♀️ Came in skeptical (insects, mud, drenched for hours 😅)…
🙆🏻‍♀️ Left wanting to spot more wildlife.

His calm confidence? Really kinda contagious.
Before you know it, you’re part of the jungle too.
And YASSSS — nature gets addictive once you learn how to see it 👀🌿✨

It’s almost the end of our Khao Sok adventure but my friends here @_sharleenang_ @rudolfguevarra @nadialoewito will be sharing more so keep your eyes peeled!
