These Mesquite baseball boys (and some Dads and Coach Holland too) seriously SHOWED UP on this turf project 🔥🔥🔥

They got up early on their weekend, dedicated their time and muscles, got dirty and got to work! Thank you to alllllll of the volunteers, sponsors and donors who made this possible.

We appreciate you. This school and these baseball boys deserve all the love.

I used to think I had to wear different hats. All the hats 🤠 Business owner. Baseball Mom. Wife. Intuitive Guide. Entrepreneur. Social Me. Introvert Me.

I wore myself thin, was doing TOO MUCH and decided to peel back and let it be easier. I don’t want a life that requires me to constantly disconnect from one part of myself to show up for another.

This is me, today, running the rug business remotely the boys fish over fall break.

💻 I’m working, Momming, watching the water, Marty the dog, and checking in with my team. Making money AND making memories.

Not perfectly balancing all the things, but rather CONNECTING them. Because I don’t have a work self, a home self, a spiritual self and a business self. I am one.

And the more I stop compartmentalizing who I am, the more intuitive my life AND business become.

Maybe the goal was never work life balance. I always hated that phrase. Maybe the goal is a life that actually feels whole 🥰

What a great day on the wash floor! 🧼

ARCS’ Discover Rug Cleaning class at Rug Worx in Mesa, AZ brought together rug care professionals for a full day of hands-on learning with instructor Scott Gwilliam.

From foundational wash techniques to spotting, color run removal, and working with a variety of rug types and fibers, attendees had the opportunity to learn by doing and get plenty of real experience on the wash floor.

A huge thank you to Scott and Rug Worx for hosting, and to everyone who joined us for a day of learning, sharing, and sharpening their rug-cleaning skills!

We took the boys to a concert! We saw Charles Wesley Godwin at the Van Buren.

🩷The music was SO good
🩷Brandt got to wear his cowboy hat
We got to celebrate more for Byron’s big 16th bday
🩷Scott got us tix in the upstairs mezzanine so Brandt and I could actually see 😂

Music that is good for the soul and the fam! We are so freaking blessed.

Today was Brandt’s last day at Eduprize 🥺 and I’ve been driving them there for 11 years between the 2 boys. BUT we are so excited that he will be heading to EPA in Chandler for junior high…and focusing on baseball (shocker I know 😆).

At the same time, Byron just wrapped up his freshman year with a 4.1 GPA and we’re so grateful he landed exactly where he was meant to be at Mesquite. The friendships, the coaches, the culture, and the baseball program have all been great! He even wants to try and make the golf team next year 🤞

We are full of gratitude for these boys and all they poured into this school year both on campus and on the field. We are soaking up all the time with them and excited about what’s to come!

Here’s to summer trips, summer ball ⚾️, growth, memories, and trusting the next chapter before we can fully see it.

And cheers to the Mamas trying to hold it together on the “last days” and the new chapters 😭❤️

If you’ve ever called @rugworx, you were probably hoping to talk to him.

If you’ve ever come by the shop, you were probably looking for him.

If you’ve ever trusted us with your rugs…it’s because of him.

Scott is the owner.
The leader.
The one the team looks to.
The one our clients trust without hesitation.

And somehow…
he’s also at the baseball field, showing up for our boys and never missing the moments that actually matter.

There are a lot of ways to build a business.

You can scale.
You can systemize.
You can chase more.

But what he built? Its different. It’s built on trust, referrals and consistency. It’s showing up over and over again for YEARS.

And now stepping into his role as Vice President of Association of Rug Care Specialists…it just makes sense. @rug_specialists

Because this industry?
This team?
This business?

It’s never just been a job to him. It’s who he is.

We got to do what rug nerds dream about.

We visited the famous Atiyeh Brothers rug wash facility and Randy Hyde’s Renaissance facility here in Portland.

And let me tell you something…seeing these next level operations live and in action never gets old.

You can learn online.
You can talk on the phone.
You can watch clips.
You can be in allll the FB groups 😂

But there is something different about standing inside a facility, watching the flow, seeing the systems, feeling the culture, and learning from people who are deeply committed to the craft like we are.

This is why we travel (even when we may not want to) And this is why we make the commitment to growth and education.

Because getting around people who are operating at a high level changes you. It expands your thinking and reminds you that there is always more to learn.

Seeing these operations in person a d meeting their incredible teams absolutely made our trip.

We are so grateful for the access and so ready to bring that energy back home with us.
🙏 THANK YOU 🙏 to ARCS, Randy/Val at Renaissance and Tim and his crew at Atiyeh Bros!

Scott and I headed to Portland for the ARCS Annual Convention 🥳

And while I am genuinely excited to see our rug nerd people and be in rooms that sharpen us, I also want to say the part that does not get talked about enough.

This level of commitment is not casual and it easy.

It is not easy to leave town.
It is not easy to leave your business.
It is not easy to leave your kids in the middle of spring baseball season.
And yes, we are missing one of our son’s high school games while we are away 😭

But this is also what it looks like to take your craft seriously.
To keep learning.
To keep growing.
To keep choosing mastery.

People love the highlight reel of education, travel, and industry events. What they do not always see is the sacrifice behind it.

For us, this trip is not just about us.
It is about becoming better for our clients, our designer community, our industry, and our own team back home. But to come back better.

We got to celebrate the ribbon cutting for Stephanie Larsen Interior Design’s new studio and showroom in Old Town Scottsdale, and it was one of those moments you just pause and take in.

Stephanie and Sara were all smiles.
@stephanielarseninteriors @sarahekatz
The rooms were full…full of support, good energy, and genuinely good humans.

This is what I love about the design community.
It’s not just beautiful spaces. It’s the people behind them. The intention. The relationships. The long game.

We’re so grateful to be part of this world… supporting designers and their clients behind the scenes, and then getting to show up for moments like this in real life.

And of course, the details did not go unnoticed!
🥤Best ginger juice shot ever from @juicecore
🧁 Best high vibrational cupcake from @sweet.n.skinny that had everyone blown away. Non-dairy, plant-based, low glycemic…and actually delicious 🤯 😋

So happy for Stephanie and her amazing team. This is just the beginning 👏👏👏

It’s Spring.

And yes…we have a rug cleaning business @rugworx which is amazing in every way and I love Spring Cleaning time with our clients!

BUT, Scott and I are a bit preoccupied at the moment with SPRING BALL ⚾️

⚾️ Byron is in the thick of high school baseball @mesquitewildcatsbaseball @byrongwilliam
⚾️ Brandt is playing some uber competitive 12u majors club ball with @mesa_torosbaseball

We’re THOSE parents 😂
Checking schedules
Leaving work early
Sitting in the stands like it actually matters, because to us, it does.

I was an athlete my whole life. This carried into school, Psychology, and now business. Sports shaped how I think, how I compete, how I show up.

And here’s what gets me right now:
We built a business that allows this
I’m not squeezing life in around work
I’m not asking for permission to leave
I’m not stressed about stepping away

I’m building my schedule around their baseball on purpose, with no stress and no guilt. Just straight gratitude.

This is the version of success I care about. These are the times our family will cherish.
