We made a DIY traffic light with materials that we have at home. Keep reading the caption for the materials we used for this fun play idea.

Did you know this month is #blackhistorymonth? This craft is dedicated to Garrett Morgan. One of his most influential inventions was the three-light traffic signal.🚦

My son enjoyed this craft and was excited to learn about something sees every single day.

Here is what we used for this cardboard play:

📦 Part of a cardboard box (have an adult cut out the flap of a box).

📦 Cardboard tube cut in equal sections (I used one inch width of a paper towel cardboard tube).

✂️ Scissors (adult supervision required)

🖊️ Hot glue (Have an adult glue the cardboard tubes on)

🖍️ Your choice of coloring material. We used paint sticks.

Extension activity: Turn this into a fine motor activity by providing tongs to transfer items into the traffic light by color. We used pom poms and play dough balls.

🚦Resin Traffic Light Tinker Tray is made by @rumbleandrour.

🏷️Like this idea? I would love for you to save it and share it with someone who would love this craft and play idea. Thank you!

Our adventure today led us on a quest to explore and learn about Cherry Blossoms. We combined our nature studies with a simple invitation to roll, smash, and count. This beautiful experience was possible thanks to our sensory kit from @momthemage
Olivia created the most amazing bundle with the softest play dough that smells fantastic ( perfect sensorial experience) and can you even with that filler? I was able to create our cherry blossom tree using our cloud tray from @awandco that made a perfect tree crown.
