Jordan highlights … The race that inspires resilience. There is nothing like that moment when the runners pile onto a pickup truck, head off into the Wadi Rum sunset, the signal drops, and for three days they will have no contact with the outside world…they’ll emerge having slept like they haven’t in years, closer to their fellow runners than any race in their lives…and holding a handmade ceramic medal. That medal says I just ran in one of the worlds most incredible landscapes, through a desert that is deceptively undulating, past hundreds of camels, supported by the Bedouin race team who make every aid station feel like a feast…and I am more aware now than ever before of how strong, how resilient, I am. I just can’t stop thinking about it. WHAT A WEEK!!! Amsterdam welcomed us with blue skies, canals full of life and the perfect backdrop for the inaugural Europe’s @50bestbars . Beyond the awards, it reminded me why I love this industry so much. The people, the friendships and the feeling that, no matter where we come from, we all speak the same hospitality language. As a proud Greek and Global Brand Ambassador of a Greek brand, I couldn’t be happier to see Greece making history. 🥇 @line.athens 🥈 @the.bar.in.front.of.the.bar 🍸 @barronegroathens 🍸 @baba_au_rum 🍸 @the_clumsies 🦍 @gorillabarskg Six bars in the inaugural Top 50. An incredible achievement that reflects years of hard work, creativity and genuine Greek hospitality. The recognition is well deserved, and I couldn’t be prouder to call so many of these people friends. But what made me smile even more was seeing how far the Greek bar community reaches. Greeks are helping shape some of Europe’s best bars, from @thecambridge_paris in Paris (@nikos_ofidis_ ), @bird.cph in Copenhagen (@elpida_antonopoulou ), @latebloomers.zurich in Zurich (@vangelis_dim_ & @stelioskal ), @super.lyan in Amsterdam (@john_papastylianos )and @dunlin.bar (@kostas_karvounis ) in Innsbruck. And as neighbours, it was equally exciting to celebrate @nouvellevague_tirana in Tirana, putting Albania firmly on the European cocktail map. One of my favourite moments of the week was seeing @threecents_official contribute to such a special edition. From hosting the Three Cents Pickle Soda Garden Party, where bartenders from across Europe came together to celebrate, reconnect and enjoy our newest flavour, to presenting the Three Cents Best New Opening Award, awarded to @waltzbar (London), recognising the innovation and vision driving the next generation of great bars, it was a privilege to represent a brand that continues to invest in bartenders and celebrate our global bar community. Congratulations to every bar, every bartender, every team and everyone working behind the scenes. This first edition has set the bar incredibly high.
