POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Headed home from the TED Countdown Summit in Nairobi feeling full (and not just cus I ate passion fruit at every meal). We brought together TED Fellows from across the continent and beyond who are focused on climate work to connect and support one another.

Highlights included: time with Fellows in person (some I’d never met before!); visiting @segeni ‘s @sensorygardenkenya and learning how tea is picked and processed on his gorgeous and peaceful sensory garden + farm; power lunches with Fellows; reconnecting with old friends and meeting new ones (thank you @preethiherman @adama__sanneh @ikigainairobi @melaniegouby @zoe_flood @skoll.foundation ); spending time in the vibrant city of Nairobi and meeting young artists and activists like @kintupixels who give me hope and courage; dancing all night, drenched in sweat; and learning from some of the top minds on the climate crisis. I particularly loved the talks by @anshultewari @melindajanki @nicolatwilley @isabella.tree anujtanna - and @turkanasessions always brings it- with exquisite musical curation by @muthonidrummerqueen

🔴 Such a joy to to step back into the world of @tedcountdown as an alumni speaker & a member of the Youth Cohort!

✨Holding onto the magic of my TED Countdown journey — from sharing stories at @projdandelion dinners, visiting climate projects across Kenya, and reconnecting with old friends (plus making brilliant new ones along the way).

I loved seeing my worlds collide and come together from across industries— from @natgeo , @worldresources , @youth4climate_ , @climateovershootcommission and more 🤍

🌱 What a joy to be in spaces that dream boldly, act urgently, and remind us that hope is a practice. We heard from speakers like Esther Dulfo, @algore , @tassoazevedo , @missclimatekenya and more about the frontiers of climate action.

A huge thank you and congratulations to @shivsoin for bringing us all together once again, and the the entire @ted team for continuing the mandate of building spaces for Ideas Worth Spreading.

still wrapping my head around @tedcountdown. 700+ climate innovators building a net-zero world and somehow I was in the room??

visiting kenya’s most inspiring climate projects, learning from global leaders (yes, including @algore ), and the most incredible humans @louisedgmabulo @shivsoin @dwddao @rummoya @rayne_sullivan

some things that are still bouncing around my brain:
🌍 africa really is leading - Kenya’s already running on 85% renewables?? wild.
🧪 we literally have the science to turn CO₂ into fuel, plastic… even jet fuel. now we just need the scale.
☀️ from sunshine to biomass, young people are already leading the way in climate jobs
