For short we can call this some B.S
Because the 24/7 365 second by second management of any insulin dependent diabetes is some B.S!!

This is in no way a play on others identifying acronyms such as sexual identification, race or other chronic health conditions. I respect all ways of life 💙

IDDM (insulin dependent diabetes mellitus) is more than Type One and all of our managements are similar. When Sir Frederick Banting conducted trials leading to the discovery of man-made insulin he did so by tying off the pancreatic ducts of a number of dogs, which was quite easy. Then he had to remove the pancreas from other dogs to give them diabetes. Having your pancreas removed (pancreatectomy) also results in Type 3c diabetes. This was initiated by Sir Frederick Banting.

In honor of this Nobel man (pun intended for winning the Nobel Prize in 1923 for his discovery of insulin) I believe it and he should be honored like so many others who have gifted life 💙

Hi my name is XXXXXXX and I have Banting Syndrome or for short “Some B.S!!”

@chronicallywillpodcast Season 2, Episode 93: A Story of Love and Life, including Loss w/ @runawaywithsar

Sarah was diagnosed with type 1 at age 7, 17 years ago, and also lives with multi drug-resistant epilepsy. She was diagnosed during a visit to the pediatrician. After that, she spent summers at @campnejeda, later becoming a counselor and fostering a good relationship with her diabetes and instilling confidence.

While in college pursuing her BS in nursing, she began modeling and wanted her diabetes to be a focal point. That’s when she started advocating more for type 1. She’s taken part in incredible opportunities like opening the NASDAQ on World Diabetes Day as part of a Dexcom campaign.

Currently, Sarah is a nurse on a neuro/stroke step-down unit and loves the conversations her diabetes tech starts. This year, she’s working toward becoming a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist.

Sarah shares how important it is for young people to see someone openly share the good, the bad, and the ugly. She knows she wouldn’t be where she is without her amazing family—especially her parents, who came together with their strengths to keep little Sarah well.

The diabetes community means so much to her. This includes the comfort others feel reaching out about diabetes, as well as in moments of grief. During this recording, flowers are gifted to the Guarino family for their forever support. Sarah’s mother recently transitioned. She was and continues to be the answer to all of Sarah’s "whys."

Happy 3 years to us! It started with a Charlie’s date and spending the summer together. Then we did long distance at school but you drove hundreds of miles to come see me and I took some early train rides to visit you. That showed how dedicated we are and how much we care for each other. Now we both graduated and are working amazing jobs and we are always together now! I wouldn’t want to do these 3 years with anyone else. We got many years to go. I love you! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY
