"Cancer gave me a battle I never asked for. The military gave me a mission I was proud to accept. And carrying this flag gives me a reminder to stand tall and keep moving forward."

Robert is a Navy Veteran and a cancer survivor. On Day 3 of One Flag Forward, presented by USAA, he carries the flag through his hometown of Philadelphia.

"When I carry the flag, I don't just carry a piece of cloth. I carry generations of Americans who believe this country is worth defending."

250 miles. New York to Washington, DC. Starting 9/12, the day America came together 25 years ago. One flag, passed hand to hand.

Inspiration can get you to a marathon, but the inspiration you are surrounded by at a place like London will boost that to a whole new level. These are just a few amazing stories I captured from the Team @abbottglobal shakeout run this morning.

Team Abbott is a cola community of runners with a connection to health challenges, that haven’t let those challenges stop them from achieving their goals. This has been a community that has inspired and fulfilled me many times over, if you’d like to join us, you can apply anytime, a link is in my bio. Good luck to all the London runners!

A huge shout out to all of the Eagles from across the nation who took on the Marine Corps Marathon this past weekend.

Every mile was a reminder of our shared mission - to enrich the lives of America’s veterans through movement and community. Way to get after it, Eagles!

“I wasn’t sure if I’d ever be able to run again. Ten years ago, doctors told me I had 5–10 years to live. Today, I’m still running and still wearing the Eagle.”

Meet Robert, a Navy veteran whose resilience and optimism define what it means to wear the Eagle. After being diagnosed with terminal cancer ten years ago, Robert faced more than 20 inches of muscle removal, a partial mastectomy, three shoulder surgeries, and over 500 stitches. Yet every day, he continues to run and to live with purpose.

“When I put on the Eagle, I feel invincible and surrounded by the camaraderie of fellow Eagles.”

Robert believes deeply that veterans aren’t broken and he’s proof of it. His mission now is to help more veterans find that same spark of hope, belonging, and strength that Team RWB gave him.
