MISSION SPOTLIGHT ✨ Meet Emily (@runemilyj)

For Emily of @runemilyj, running has never just been about miles. It’s always been about people.

She’ll tell you that one of the greatest gifts running has given her is a reminder of who she is at her core. A connector. Someone who believes everyone deserves a place to belong. That mindset has shaped every chapter of her running journey.

Her story started the way so many do. A friend asked who wanted to train for a half marathon, and Emily simply said yes.

She trained using run walk intervals, found a running group that quickly became family, and eventually gave back as a pace coach, helping others chase their own goals.

Then life happened. She stepped away from running for several years.

When she was ready to come back in 2025, she planned to return to her old running group. Instead, her husband encouraged her to look closer to home. She posted in a local moms Facebook group asking if there was a neighborhood run club.

There wasn’t.

But there were plenty of women hoping someone would start one.

So Emily and another neighborhood mom did exactly that.

That’s who @runemilyj is. If the community she needs doesn’t exist, she’ll create it so others have somewhere to belong.

When the miles get hard, she leans on simple reminders that carry her forward.

“I’m tough.”

“I can do anything.”

“I can feel the speed in my soul.”

“My body will thank me for this later.”

And if her running shoes had a voice? Her well loved pale Mizunos would probably have just one request…

“Please clean us.” 😂

Emily reminds us that running isn’t only about becoming stronger ourselves. Sometimes it’s about creating the space for someone else to discover their own strength.

Go give @runemilyj a follow and show her some love. We have a feeling she’s just getting started. 🧡
