Ranti Femi-Oyekola ( @rantiee.fo ) said reinvention is the point and then proceeded to prove it repeatedly with zero remorse. 🔥 She was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2019, built and scaled a food truck business in Abuja, trained at Red Dish Culinary Academy, then walked into EbonyLife Creative Academy ( @ebonylifecreativeacademy ) in April 2024 and never looked back. Since then she has executive-produced the award-winning festival-selected film Le Pari de Bolaji, landed an Associate Producer credit on The Morayo Show ( @themorayoshow ), taken her storytelling work across West Africa into Togo, Benin Republic, and Senegal, and founded Run It Creative Network ( @runitcn ), a whole company built to give African creatives the tools, legal protection, and knowledge to tell powerful stories and own them completely. She is still not done. For Bolaji’s Balls, these three elements played a major role in the directing and cinematography of the film. Because I was working with more than two characters and wanted everyone to remain in the frame without jump-cut edits, I leaned heavily on: • Blocking ….the precise planning and movement of actors, camera, and props within a scene to tell the story visually and emotionally. • Framing …..how a shot is composed, what the camera includes or excludes, and what it emphasizes to guide the viewer’s focus. • Depth of field ….the range of distance in a shot that appears sharp and in focus while the rest becomes blurred. Using these together helped me position all my characters with intention, adding emotion, depth, and a strong visual language to the film.
