I’ve worked with Coach @runlikedylan for years. The first marathon I ever ran with him as my coach, I won!! 🤯 And I’ve won two more after that. 🥇🥇🥇In less than a month, I’ll be competing in South Africa 🇿🇦at the World Marathon Majors AG World Championships 🌍 and he is 100% the reason why. Year after year, we’ve seen improvements and I just want to say thank you to him, and the @vdot_o2 community for making it possible. Hire that dude—no AI can dial in the mental, physical and emotional side of what having a coach like him by your side can! @tidewaterstriders @wmmajors @capetownmarathon @marathontours @marathontours_uk

Boston: 2:21:26

What an incredible weekend! First world major marathon, perfect conditions, and a new PB by over a minute. That’s not even mentioning the amazing people I met from all over the world, thanks for bringing out the best energy I have ever experienced during a race!

Ten years ago, I didn’t even know what a marathon was. Now I can say I’ve finished Top 100 in the Boston Marathon!! I am so grateful for all I’ve been able to accomplished so far and look forward to continuing to push myself to be the best athlete I can be.

It’s amazing what one race can do to reignite something in you. Since going 2:33:05 (PR) I’ve received an invite to the @wmmajors Age Group World Championships in Cape Town, South Africa, and set two Age Group State Records. The mind and body can be your biggest friend or foe.

Thank you: The Marathon Project: Gold Wave Marathon
19th overall | 1st Masters | Arizona | BQ20

It’s amazing to recall: When the details finally held.

Two years of showing up with fitness that felt like sub-2:30… and the marathon kept surfacing the “little things” (GI, pacing hiccups, taper bugs, niggles). Not catastrophic—just enough.

Gold Wave was built to remove variables: flat looped course, controlled logistics, predictable bottle access, and a merit-based field that actually races.

Race week tried to shut the door (ear infection + Z-pack, posterior tib flare)… but the system held. One bagel (not two). Calm execution. The Feed bottles + Victus gels on schedule. Even pacing. A mid-race bottle mistake cost ~15 seconds—went back, fixed it, surged controlled to stay connected.

Cramping after mile 22 asked the question. The answer was: keep moving, stay connected, manage the line.

38-second PR. Not the exact number I came for, but a meaningful step forward after a long plateau—built on craftsmanship, not heroics.

Grateful for my team: Jenna + the kids cheering 12 times, my in-laws carrying the load, Ruairi Moynihan pacing like a metronome (and staying the whole way), Coach Dylan Belles’ process, and my boss Kelli Drury for showing up.

Progress at 40 often looks like fewer errors, not more grit.

I give God all the glory.

Thanks: @tifosioptics , @thefeed (@victussports ), @liquidiv and the @tidewaterstriders community.

30K Virginia State Record (40-44 y/o Age Group)
🥇 Overall Tidewater Striders Distance Series 3

Big shout to @isaiahrabata23 for 30K pacing and @jakesrunlab for helping the first 20K! Those guys are metronomes! Thank you both!

Also, thank you to the @tidewaterstriders and President @orangerunning for hosting an incredible race series.

Lastly, achieving a second state record this year feels pretty awesome. ❤️Coach @runlikedylan can get you there—if you’re looking to achieve things you never thought possible in running. 💪😎 Also, shouts to my pretty lady, @_jbfree - I love you, you’re a great mom. Thank you for making the lunches. 😘

To God be the glory.

“For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.”

The 235# trap bar PR came easier than I was expecting on Tuesday. Let’s throw another 20# on for the last set of 8 after the 17 mile long run workout. On the calendar, I had 6 miles easy, 9 miles at 6:21/mile, 2 easy. Thanks for the tough workout Coach @runlikedylan — treadmill workout miles always come a bit harder, but the @hanstroyer documentaries keep things motivated. 💪😎🥖

Practice makes perfect—that’s delusional. No one is perfect or will ever be—except for One.☝️The “making” is what I love. Here we are cooking up some personalized bottles practice before @marathonproj

It was my first time getting personal bottles in any race, even after having a few elite bibs in prior marathons. TMP brought in NYRR to pull it off and it was excellent. While I did practice picking up my bottles, ripping the gels off and consuming everything at speed, what I failed to practice was finding the right bottle on a table of bottles I’d never seen before.

Nutrition went well, no Gi issues, which has been a struggle in past races. At The Marathon Project, I only had one snaffu, where I picked up the wrong bottle and had to go back and swap. I probably lost 15 seconds (or the length of this video) in the transition.

I did have to burn some fuel catching up to my pack, which took about a half a mile. “No one is perfect,” even when we practice—but making the decision to catch my pack even after the error, saved my race.

I love the grind, people. ❤️📈

Shout out to @thefeed (discount in bio) for keeping me in @victus.sport Gels, bottles, @firstendurance PreRace and about everything else you need to get it done and @tifosioptics for the shades. 🕶️ And to @runlikedylan for the sessions that bring it all together.
